In full today for the death of 'Dur
able- Mike" Malloy.
Joseph lwurphy, 37, walked calmly
to the Sing Sing death house lut
night, looked on silently, with mild
ourloslty as ho was strapped Into the
electric shalr at 10:03 p. m., eastern
standard time. He was pronounced
dead three minutes later.
Murphy's three accomplices. Frank
Posqua, Anthony Marino and Daniel
Krelsberg, were executed June 7, Two
reprieves were granted Murphy to per
mit mental examinations, but he w-
judged sane.
The four men finally accomplished
the Insurance murder of Malloy with
gas after the speakeasy derelict sur
vived poison liquor, the wheels of an
automobile and tainted food mixed
with ground tin.

A new schedule of prices for Bayer
Aspirin tablets the lowest In the
history of the Bayer company went
Into effect yesterday In all Medford
drug stores.
The Bayer company introduced
Bayer Aspirin In this country 85
years ago. It has since become one
of the most widely used of all drug
products and the price reu action will
mean a saving to millions of consumers.
Last year the Bayer company re
duced the price of Its 100-tablet
package and, according to officials
of the company, the distribution In
creased so definitely that It was de
cided to extend the lower price to
Include the dozen and two-dozen
packages and to again reduce the
large family size.
In announcing the new consumer
price schedule, the Bayer company
Issued the following statement:
"Bayer has always kept faith with
its customers by giving them the
finest, most uniform product that
science can produce. Its decision to
reduce prices Is evidence of Bayer's
desire to extend even further Its ser
vice to Its customers."
The new consumer prices of Bayer
Aspirin are now effective In 60,000
drug stores throughout the United
States.

FORMATION OF PARTY
SALEM, July 6. (jp) Petitions for
the formation of a Socialist party In
the state of Oregon were filed with
the secretary of state here Thursday,
bearing 19,000 signatures. A total of
17,400 names were necessary to make
the party legal for the coming elec
tion. ,
The state central committee Is com
posed of Albert Stralff, J. J. Martin,
Don N. Swetland, B. C. Mitchell and
J, E. H owner.
Graduation classes from Iowa col
leges numbered 3000 men and wom
en this year.
Fire Chief Roy Elliott reported to
day that during the month of June,
the department answered 30 calls, 16
of this number being grass fires.
Others were from electric storms, auto
mobiles, flue fires, and from miscel
laneous causes. The loss was figured
at 1001.15, Chief Elliott said.
Last year the maximum of runs was
reached during August, with 37 calls,
he reported.
