in southern Oregon over last year,
was evidenced In a check taken at
93 stations Friday, according to J. a.
Bromley, residence malntence engi
neer, the figures showing 1281 more
ears checked than on June 16, 1933,
The greatest gain In travel was
shown on the Redwood highway,
north of the Junction with the Ore
son Caves highway, with an Increase
of 323. An Increase of 180 was made
at the south of the Junction of the
Pacific highway with the Williams
secondary highway of Grants Pass,
and an increase of 164 at the June
tlon of the Oregon Caves and Red
wood highways.
A decrease of 33 was recorded at
the Pacific highway north of the
Junction with the Green Springs
highway, and a decrease of 38 at the
Williams secondary highway, south of
the Junction with the county road
known as the Old Redwood highway.

Mrs. JuU Wllllsms, lecturer for the
California state grange. There Is pos
sibility, according to Orange leaders,
that Ray Oil!, state master, may ap
pear on the program.
The celebration will begin In the
morning In Llthla park with athletic
contests for children and adults. There
will be a picnic lunch In the park
at noon, and at 1 :30 the apeakera will
appear at the band stand In the park
There will be entertainment at the
Twin Plunges, probably bathing
contest, and dancing will take place
In the armory. Old time and modern
dancing will begin at three In the
afternoon, and run until 13 at night.
The gathering of Grangers will be
one of the greatest ever held In south'
ern Oregon. People from as far as
Roseburg will attend, and many
prominent Oregon citizens will be In
attendance.

Senator McNary will take a yacht

Michigan, passing from the St. Law
rence river Into the Great Lakes, be
fore returning to Washington, D. 0.,
for another two weeks, after which
he will return to his farm near Salem.
Senator Stelwer will leave here

school district, where 83 voters as
sembled the annual school election in
the schools here passed with small
Interest this year. In one district
only the board members were pres
ent, and one of them forgot the
duty that day and was late for the
meeting.
