FRANK F. DITTO
Prank P. Ditto pissed awny at his
home on L-oziet lane near Medford it
2:00 p. mM Thursday at the age of
32. He was born at Butte, Montana.
April 12, 1002. In April, 1030, he waa
married at Jacksonville to Margaret
Young. They resided In Portland
prior to their return here about three
months ago to make their home.
Besides his wife, Margaret Ditto,
he leaves two children, Frank Fay,
Jr., and Ituth Ann, aged two years
and nine months, respectively. Also
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William
Ditto of Grants Pass. Also four broth-
era and one sister, Elza Marie Ditto
and Melvln of Grants Pass; L. M. and
Joseph Ditto of Portland and Marvin
of New York.
Funeral services will be held at the
Conger chapel at 2:00 p. m. Sunday
with Rev. Jones of Jacksonville of
ficiating. Interment In Siskiyou
Memorial park.

sketches and cartoons have appeared
In all prominent newspaper and
many periodicals.
He may be seen In action at the
Bperry Plour Co. booth at the In
dustrial exhibit. Ferg works with
lightning rapidity and will dash off
a likeness In Just a few seconds.

Eighth grade examinations for con
ditioned pupils may be taken at the
Jaokson county courthouse audito
rium at 1 p. m., Thursday, 0 a. m.,
Friday orl p. m. Friday, according
to announcement by the county
school superintendent's office.
This arrangement has been made
In order not to Interfere with the
pioneer parade, which will be on
Thursday morning. The examinations
will also be given at the Gold Hill
and Eagle .Point schools.

SLAYS FAMILY AND SELF
SPOKANE, Wash., June 1, (AF)
Vestiges of a man's two-day struggle
with his nerve to steel himself to
kill his wife, two daughters and him
self were in the hands of police today.
Notes left to friends told of the
agony Arthur E. Hooker, M, news
paper business-office man. suffered
In seeing his daughter, Marjorle, 14,
gradually overcome by paralysis, lead
ing to his shooting Wednesday night
of Marjorle and her sister, Virginia,
11, his wife, Mabel, himself In what
Coroner T. C. Barnhart called murder
and suicide,
A note was dated May 28, the "28"
crossed out and "30" written In, Indi
cating to Coroner Barnhart that
Hooker for two days wavered over his
Intended act.
In one note he said:
"To the good friends of my family1
and myself:
"Please do not think too badly of
me for what I have done.
"Broken financially, without money
to provide for the needs of my wife
and children, greatly beloved by me
and unable t? secure any financial
help what can I do with my Mar
jorle, sick In bed since Christmas?
"Now I find my health breaking
or broken, under the strain. No one
knows the struggles I have put up
the last six or eight years to keep up,
but financial misfortunes and falling
health have got the best of me.
"X am so tired. I want to rest be
fore I break down any further. , . .
X had hoped for better things from
life . . . please pray God for our
salvation and forgiveness. Good-bye."
Discovery of the bodies was made
yesterday after Roy Lowe, next-door
neighbor, peered through a window,
not having seen the Hookers all day
