I Grows Fine Flowers Some of the
most choice sweetpeas to be found
in the valley this season are at the
Maury ranch in the west side dis
trict, where they are grown by Miss
I Mary Maury. The flowers are out
j standing for size and the number of
! blossoms on each tern. On most of
! the stems at least four flowers are
i to be found. Miss Maury has grown
sweetpeas for many years and has de
; veloped some very fine flowers, but
; this year's blossoms seem to surpass
all predecessors. A bouquet brought
i to town this week attracted much at
; tention from fanciers, who were hard
! to convince that the flowers were
home-grown.

Fredric March Has
Role in Drama for
Craterian's Fans
"Death Takes a Holiday." Frederic
March's new sensational starring
picture, coming Sunday to the Cra
terian theater. Is based upon one of
the most unusual themes ever por
trayed In the theatre, according to
Maxwell Anderson, who collaborated
with Gladys Lehman In the adapta
tion of the original play of the same
name by Alberto Casella, adapted
Into English by Walter Ferris.
The story of "Death Takes a Holi
day" 1s built on the idea that Death,
curious to discover what men held
so dear In life, to understand why i
people fear him so, emerges from the I
shadows, tnkea on the human form !
of a dashing, romantic lover, and ;
for three days tests all the human j
illusions.
He becomes the guest of honor at
a gay house-party, keeping hts true
identity secret, and dazzles the young
women present with his beauty, his i
wit and his mysterious Importance.
