Amidst the nation-wide publicity,
attendant to the awarding of the t
Pulitzer prizes, the Craterian theater ,
shows the screen version of the play j
which was accorded the honor of re
ceiving the prt?c for the outstanding
play of the year, "Men In White," :
for a two-day engagement, today and ;
Monday only. Clark Oable Is starred.
"Men In White" has the dramatic
background of a. modern hospital,
vivid and gripping in the gamut of
emotions which only a hospital
knows. It shows the extent to which
the doctor or surgeon must give the
idea of social life where ho can go
out whenever he pleases or make ap
pointments a few days ahead. His
social life always comes second if
medicine means enough to him.
Clark Gable's conflict Is made vivid
by his love for Myrna Loy, who plays
the society girl. She finds It Im
possible to understand that he should
not be able to leave the hospital
whenever he chooses, particularly
since it means going out with her.
The struggle in the young doctor's
mind Is one difficult to solve.
Jean Hersholt, In the rolo of Dr.
Hochbcrg, has one of his outstand
ing characterizations, Others in the
cast are Otto Kruger. Elizabeth Allen
and C. Henry Gordon.
"Lady for a Day"
Opening at Roxy
"Lady For a Day." which opens
today at the Roxy theater, Is des
tined for a prominent niche in
srreendom's Hall of Fame.
It possesses that Indefinable qual-
Thle Is one time when Brown feels
blue. Its one of the many side
splitting scenes in "A Very Honor
able Guy," starring Joe Brown at
the Rialto theater today and Mon
day. This particular moment shows
Joe having his head measured after
selling his skull for 91000, with a
promise to deliver the body at a des
ignated time. As a gangster whose
word Is as good as his bond, Joe
finds himself getting Into one tight
sltutaion after another, all of which
prove to be added enjoyment for the
audience.
