ROGUE RIVER, May 9. (Spl.)
April 34, two of Rogue River's young
people slipped away to Roseburg,
where they obtained a marriage li
cense. They were wed at Myrtle Creek
and returning home kept It secret
until Saturday. They were Orvllle
Dengler, owner of Rogue River's pool
hall, and Miss Laura Atherton. They
will make their home here and are
at home to their friends at the Burk
hart apartments. Monday evening
about 60 friends gathered and chart-
varied them and were treated to candy
and cigars.

visiting at the Charles Warren home.
Charles Sanders returned Thursday
from Sacramento, where he has been
doing prospect work.

gram Friday, telling of the death of
her son-in-law, George Green at
Wapato, Wash. Mr. Green haa been
ill for several months.
Wednesday a supper and program
was given at the Community hall by
the ladies of the Presbyterian church.
It was well attended and enjoyed by
all.

liams Sunday afternoon between the
Grange team and the school tean
was -won by the Grange. This was
the first practice of the season.
Williams ladles' club met Wednes
day afternoon with Mrs. R. F. Lew-
man. Because of the rain there were
only IS present. After a lengthy
business meeting a pleasant social
hour was spent and refreshments
served.
A daughter weighing eight pound
was born to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Var
ner April 30, In Grants Pass. She
has been named Marjory Clara. Mrs.
Varner was formerly Miss Marjory
Jones and was a teacher in the Wil
liams school for three years.
