pended for six months, when he ap
peared In city court this morning.
Puts Up Ball Oscar D. Sage, 37,
today put up $10 ball and was re
leased from the city Jail. He faces
charges of being drunk In a public
place, having been arrested by local
officers last night.
MoMann ' Fined Andrew MoMann,
38, of Ashland was fined $10 by city
Judge A. D. Curry this morning on
charges of being drunk In a public
place. He was arrested last night by
the city police.

from Orants Pass, to attend the thtrd
annual Jackson County Home makers'
Day program, Wednesday, April 25. at
the Christian church, Medford.
Miss Nye will discuss "looking
Ahead in Home Economics Exten
sion," at the afternoon session, and
will be secretary of the discussion
group on organization and adminis
tration.
Miss Nye will be accompanied by
Mrs. Azalea Sager, extension special
ist in clothing; Miss Lucy Case,, ex
tension specialist In nutrition; 'and
Miss Gertrude STcow, home demon
stration agent at large, who will meet
with the discussion groups on cloth
ing, nutrition and recreation.
The program will start promptly at
9:30 a. m., with a band concert by
the Medford high school band under
the direction of F. Wilson Walt. At
the noon luncheon, Mrs. Esther Mer
rltt Sanderson of Central Point will
be soloist; County Judge Earl B. Day,
guest speaker, will discuss "The Im
portance of the Home to Society." The
luncheon program wll close with a
style revue of dresses made In the
economy dressmaking project.
The purpose of the program, ac
cording to Mabel O. Mack, county
home demonstration agent, Is to re
view the year's work In extension and
to plan the program for June, 1934,
to June, 1R35.
Home extension units of the county
and other cooperating organizations
will be represented by at least five
delegates and every homemaker of the
county Is Invited to attend.

BEND, Ore., April 24. (AP) Lake
view's "fossilized sea serpent." object
of much comment within the past
week, has Joined dragons and other
creatures In the realm of mythology
as a result of the Investigation by
Dr. Warren D. Smith, University of
Oregon geologist.
The Lake county "serpent," Dr.
Smith reported, is merely an example
of concretion, similar to those oc
casionally found In lake and sea
shore deposits. Its nucleus, Dr. Smith
explained, probably was a large root,
and through the ages mineral accu
mulations built this into the shape
of a serpent, some 20 Inches thick.
