SALMON BiTE BETTER
GRANTS PASS. April 20. (Spl.)
Rogue river fishermen have decided,
according to Joe Wharton, It is not
such a bad Idea for the water to be
a little muddy. They used to think
mining spoiled fishing.
Wednesday, prior to one o'clock In
the afternoon, seven salmon were
caught below the Savage Rapids dam
near Pierce riffle, and the water was
slightly discolored. From what mine
the muddy water came no one seemed
to know, but the slight cloudiness
in the stream helped to conceal from
the wary salmon tneir enemies on
shore, so seven of them struck before
1 o'clock, and now all the fishermen
feel better.
