tives in Albany. He spent some time
at Newport and other bench resorts.
He is the father of Mrs. Marc Jarmin

gram Tuesday from her sister In Oma
ha, Neb., saying that her husband,
Fred Divelbess had dif.l that morning
after a short Illness.

Mr. Vuravltch (oimng Ed Yura-
vlteh of Oakland, Cal., la expected to
arrive In Medford today by plane. His
plans were not known here, whether
or not he would remain for confer
ences with local air officials. Mr.
Yuravitch is inspector of airways for
the department of commerce.
"Brass Rail" Opens The "Bra
Rail." formerly the Hl-Ho, on tlw
south Pacific highway, will reopen
Saturday under the management of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Felse, assisted by
Miss Billle Latta. They will feature
light lunches, salads and sandwiches.
Companies to Arrive Company
1622, CCC, to ocupy Camp Tyee, is
expected to arrive In this district on
Sunday, while company 1627, to be
stationed at Camp China Flats, will
arrive on Monday. Both groups are
Sixth corps men, enrolled in the Chi
cago district.
Many Salmon Caught Yesterday
and the day before were good fishing
days at Savage Rapids dam, It was
reported here this morning by Harry
Hansen, who plana to try his luck
there tomorrow. There were seven
salmon caught Thursday and 11 land
ed Wednesday.
llav Blocks Highway A wagonload
of hay, being driven by S. M. Wilcox
of 332 Orange street, Ashland, tlpps:
over about 3 p. m. yesterday after
noon on the Pacific highway, beneath
the overhead bridge Just north of that
city. The highway was blocked tem
porarily, and state police went to the
scene to direct traffic. The hay be
longed to Neal Hurd of the Valley
View section.
Dr. Rlgg Returns Dr. Virginia C.
Rlgg has returned from a trip to Lo3
Angeles with her daughter and hus
band, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Looker, in
their oar. Dr. Rigg spent four days
at Lag una Beach, visiting her son and
wife, Dr. and Mrs. James R. Rl&j.
Having left that section on Saturday,
Dr. Rlgg escaped the earthquake on
Tuesday. She expected to hear today
from her son, concerning the tremcr.

a. G. Stagg and Mr. and Mrs. H. L.
Tetherow have reutrned to their
homes in Medford. They were called
to Dorrls, Cal., to attend the funeral
of Raymond Hall Ballard, who passed
away Monday evening. Mr. Ballard
was the father of Mrs. Stagg nnd Mrs j
Tetherow.
Picnic Sunday Knights of Pythl.is!

picnic on Rogue river Sunday after
