A group of Central Point high school;
pupils with two of their teachers'
drove to Williams creek Friday tor a
picnic at the Cave camp, but the day ;
being rainy they stopped at the WU-!
Hams Grange hail and ate their din
ner, driving on to the Cave camp In
the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs, Lathrope
accompanied them.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Howell and son
Clyde of Grants Pass were on Williams
creek Wednesday and called at the C.
W. Roberts home. They are leaving
the first of th week for Rosevllle,
Cal., where they will work in the
fruit.
An extension ol the rural mall
route has been secured. It will go
as far as Vineyards on the west lock
of Williams creek to Cougle's mlU on
the east fork and to Ira SpaiHn'a on
Panther gulch. Tiie route will be
opened July 1. Archie Powers- has
been given the contract of delivering
the mall.
Mrs. M. L. House spent two or three
days this week with friends Cn Grants
Pass.
Harold Veucil has been asistiug C.
W. Miller putting in garden and other
spring work.
Bob Sparlln of near Merlin drove
over to spend the d.y with his father,
ira Sparlln, who is in the hospital
at Grants Pass, where he recently

Mr. and Mrs. Don Reams of Grante
Pass were on Williams creek several
days lately looking for a house to
rent, where Mr. Ream can be near
his work.
Eugene Morrison and Jack Hill se
verely chopped their forefingers cut
ting kindling lately.
E, h. Harbeek of Grafts Pass was
on the creek Monday and took back a
load of veal calves, five of which came
from the Harry Sorets tle.
Mr. Kradel, who was stricken with
apoplexy several weeks ago, was taken
to a Portland clinic last week, but
the family received no encouragement
from the doctors. Mr. Kradel and
Mrs. Doc Mansfield accompanied him.
Williams Ladies' club met with Mrs.
F. B, Miller Wednesday. During the
business meeting the Garden club
voted to hold ft neighborhood fair
on Labor day. The ladles were chosen
on two contending sides, each side to
put on their own display and a pro
gram,' Judges will be chosen -from
the outeidje for the display and pro
grams, the losing aide to entertain
the winner soon afterward. Displays
may consist of vegetables, fruit, Mow
ers, canned goods, poultry, and any
kind of homo produce. -After the
business meeting n enjoyable social
hour was spent in visiting and games.
Refreshments were served. There wore
28 ladles present. Mrs. Frank Knut
neu of Thompson neek was ft visitor.
Friends were grieved to hear of the
death of Fremont Jordon at his home
on Thompson creek Wednesday.
