Mrs. Temby Goes South Mrs. Ed
"win Temby, formerly of this city, and
now living near Jacksonville, was
taken to the St. Helena hospital,
Napa county, California, last Satur
day. She was accompanied by Mr.
Temby, her daughter Sadie, and was
driven to California by Raymond Lin
Inger. Mr. Temby and Lininger re
turned to Ashland Monday evening.
Mrs. Temby has been ill for several
months, but stood th trip well.

Raises Lovely Flowers A beautiful
bouquet of snapdragons, grown by
Mrs. O. J.' Wolfe of Orape street, was
brought to the Mail Tribune this
morning by the latter, whose flowers
have been blooming throughout the
winter. In the bouquet were many

Watson, charged with disorderly con
duct entered a ptetof guilty yester
day before Jusettcs of the Peace Wil
liam R. Coleman, and were fined 810
and costs, and sentence suspended
during dood behavior.
The charge grew out of a fglht at
the fairgrounds dance pavilion with
Deputy Sheriff Harry Crums, Crume
alleged he was hit ocer the head with
a beer bottle and had a thumb chew
ed In the melee.
Cloyd (Kewpie) O'Kelley and
Walter Combs, Rogue River youths,
charged with theft of a distributor
block from an auto belonging to
Frank R. Jackson, entered pleas of
guilty and sentence was suspended
indefinitely upon motion of the dis
trict attorey.
Oscar C. Brothers, charged with op
erating an auto with a California li
cense, was fined 810 and costs, and
given time to pay.

seat ot an auto, 85 snd coats; given

of drunkenness and was released n

A sister had forwarded $241.35 from
Switzerland. Souderegger told offic
ers, to finance his trip over. Depart
ing from this city, he was determined
to buy a ticket in Portland and keep
going.

SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 11.
UP) Tear gas bombs were hurled
at surly Filipino picketers Tuesday
as California's agricultural disorders
centered in the Florin area straw
berry fields.
A concentration of SO Filipinos in
18 automobiles around one field in
which strikebreakers were picking
berries brought the first call for
deputy sheriffs, When the Filipino
refused to leave, the officers tossed
tear gas bombs.
Later the strikers gathered at an
other field attd again the officers re
sorted to tear gas. Six deputy
sheriffs were left in the fields to
maintain order.
