AFTER ADVENTURE
The fever of wanderlust yesterday
got the better of four 14-year-old
Medford school boys, so south they
went on Vie 11 o'clock freight train,
only to be back in their homes thla

Herbert Fletcher of 6 Lewis street.
Jerald Hass of 808 West Eleventh
street, Jack Davis of 416 South Lau
rel street and Donald Caaebolt of
416 King, were the boys who said
tney were leaving here so they would
not have to go to school.
The four boys missea the morning
freight out of Ashland today and
were found in the Jungles by Chief
of Police Charles Talent there. State
police brought them to Medford and
Chief of Police Clatous McCredle re
turned them home.
No reports had been made to offi
cers that the boys were missing.

Little Herbie Grey, age 3, decided
yesterday afternoon that It was a
nloe day to board his kiddle ear and
come to the Mall Tribune to visit
his father, Herb Orey, advertising
manager. So, without asking his
mother, Herbie made the trip to
town from his home, 714 South Oak-
dale avenue.
Police were called to aid the search
and just as soon as officers were no
tified of his being tost, the chamber
of commerce; called and said a little
blond fellow on a kiddie car .was out
In front.
Midst frightened screams, little
Herbie told Chief of Police Clatous
McCredle: "X want to see Herb Orey.
I came down to see Herb."
The chief today classes little
Herbie as quite the active prisoner,
for he made attempts to jump from
the police car on the way home, and
kick the chief.
SHERIFFS SUED BY

James T. Klnkade of Phoenix yes
terday filed In circuit court ft suit
for $3500 alleged damages against the
sheriff of Klamath county and the
sheriff of Jackson county, claiming
raise imprisonment and arrest. Kln
kade asked $2500 general damages
and $1000 punitive damages. Two
deputy sheriffs are' also named as co
defendants. Attorney M. O. Wtlkins
appears as counsel for Klnkade.
Klnkade alleges in his complaint
that on Sunday, February 18, last, he
was arrested "wlthot due or legal
process of law and cast into the
Jackson county Jail, over his protest,
and later served with a process In ft
civil action.
On February 19, Kinkake alleges
he was "taken In a police car to
Klamath Falls" and placed in the
county Jail there. He further charges
that "the kangaroo court" took his
pocket change and that when re
leased on February 20 he was com
pelled to walk home.
Deputy District Attorney George
W. Kellson said this morning that
Klnkade was arrested on a warrant
Issued out of Klamath county charg
ing non-support.

Registration book for the May IS
primary will close next Tuesday, April
17 one month before the election
date.
Registrations can be made at the
county clerk's office, and at registra
tion places In Ashland, Jacksonville,
Central Point, Gold Hill, Rogue River
and in meat rural precincts at
country stores or service stations.
Voters must fee a resident of the
state one year, the county 00 days,
and the precinct In which they reside
30 days.
Registration so far tndlcatea the
Democratic and Republican parties
running even, and with few new
voters, according to the county clerk's
office. Quite a number of voters have
cancelled their registrations here, due
to returning to Douglas, Josephine
and Curry counties, or moving to
other states.
A number of rural residents of the
county, who In 1S32 changed to the
Republican party, have returned to
their Democratic faith. Among the
first time xotera, the tendency la
towards the Democratic party.
This year no registration solicitors
have been in the field, at ten oents
per registration, as In 1032. The
