will sponsor a benelit card party j
Wednesday afternoon, April 11, in
the form of deasert bridge at 1 1
o'clock. The Guild hall at the cor- I
ner of Oakdale and Fifth streets will
be the scene of the party and pivot
and progressive auction and contract
bridge will be played with prizes
awarded holdera of high scores.
The committee for the occasion is
composed of Mrs. Hal Piatt, chair
man, Mrs. Blanche Taylor, Mrs. H. Q.
Wilson, and Mrs. Ira Canfleld.

Christian Mlsslonery
Society Has Party
The Woman's Missionary society of
the Christian church enjoyed a
luncheon Wednesday, an annual af
fair, honoring the birthdays of all
the members. The dining room waa
decorated In Easter lilies, tulips and
other spring flowers. The dining
tables were placed In the form of a
cross and the decoratlona were all
in lavpndar, the missionary colors.
Covers were laid for 50 members.
The five officers were presoirs'd
with boutonnlerea of spring flowers.
The regular monthly program was
held at 2 o'clock In Recreational hall
of the church. The president, Mrs.
Allen Ourry, presided at the busi
ness period. The nominating com
mittee was appointed, to report at
the May meeting. The worship per
iod was In charee of Mrs. Fred Wll
mot. who read from Luke 24:18-15
and closed with prayer.
The presentation hour was In
charge of Mrs. R. L. Ray and group.
Mrs. Ray gave a short Introductory
talk, announcing the topic as "Ohrlst
in Latin America." she also read
a letter from Mr. and Mrs. Boyer,
missionaries stationed at'Wema. Af
rica. The first talk was given by
Mrs. J. T. Davis on "The Need of a
Living Christ." telling of condltlona
and needs In Latin America. Letters
were read by Mrs. Mabel Marsh and
Mrs. Ruth Wood, from Mrs. Edna
Oish, who is working In Christian
Mission. South Oste, Nanking, China
A dialogue given In very effective
manner on "Work In Mexico," by
Mrs. Hnllle Saunders and Mra.
Clarence Pierce. A solo "AH Alone"
was sung by Rev. W. R. Balrd.

neighbors. She emphasized the fact

than finance, signifying co-operation,
understanding and limitless contacts.
