SAN JOSE, Cel.. April 6. (UP) A
plan to establish a new agricultural
community of 10,000 persons In the
Bants, Olara valley under federal
sponsorship was revealed here last
Bight by Jack SUby, manager of the
San Jose chamber of commerce.
The self-supporting colony Is plsn.
Bed under President Roosevelt's sub
sistence colony program, Sllbey said.
The plan calls for the government to
obtain some 30,000 acres of land,
preferably In one tract, and to assist
settlers financially until the com
munity beoomes wholly self supporting.

Alleged Drunken
Driver Up Again
PORTLAND, April 8. (IP) Oeorgo
H. Watson, 66, lunchroom operator
who has the contvr.ct for providing
food for city Jail 'prisoners, was ar
rested on a drunken driving charge
here today after his car had collided
with another. Police said Watson has
been in oustody on similar charges
several times.
