regular meeting Mr. and Mrs. R. E-

guests from Sams Valley Grange.
Mrs. Margaret Glllis was a gueat of
the Orange during lecture hour which
waa presided over by Mrs. Jack Stew
art and consisted of St. Patrick's day
songs and Jokes. Orange songs, in
strumental music and articles by va
rious members.

garine. Wallace LeMolne compared the
effect of depreaslon upon farmers and
merchanta. Mrs. Barto dwelt at aome
length on the chances of the soldiers

A. Carlson, former owner of the
Jesse Carlson ranch, together with
Mrs. A. Carlson, left Saturday by
motor for Frutl, Colo., to reside.
Mrs. Stewart, mother of Jack Stew
art of the Wlmer store, left Satur
day for San Diego, Calif., where ehe
expect to stay for aome time, hoping
to Improve her health.
Mrs. Catharine N. Law ssustalned
a painful Injury to her right hand
Sunday, catching it on the barb-wire
fence and tearing the flesh from the
fingers.
Mrs. Robert C lugs ton received a
telegram from her sister, Mrs. Nell
Webber, of Klamath Fall, containing
the sad news that her nleoe, and
Mr. Webber's daughter, Mrs. Harry
Gilbert, aged 42, passed away at her
home at Klamath Falls the day be
fore. Mra. Gilbert, as Letha Webber,
was well known in Medford when
she and her parents lived on Wit
Second street. Many friends extend
sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
Chas. Moore la home In Evans Val
ley, having returned from the Vet
erans' hospital in San Francisco.
John Kathan, father-in-law of Dick
Richmond, received severe Injuries the
latter part of the week, resulting In
his being taken to the hoapltal in
Medford. He la now said to be in a
ftcrlous condition.
Mrs. Verne Orr made ft trip to
Grant Pass Friday to have her toot
dressed. Her aunt, Mrs. Moore, ac
companied her. Mra. Orr la now able
to be about with the aid of crutches.
Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Oalbralth and
family left Friday by auto for John
Day. Ore., to make their home. Mrs.
Galbralth was a teacher in the Wlmer
