KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (Spl) By
unanimous vote the executive com
mittee of the Parent-Teachers asso
ciation of Pelican and Mills schools
of Klamath Falls, declared them
selves for the emergency two year
sales tax for school relief and prop
erty reduction. Similar action was
taken by the American Legion Aux
iliary and the Business and Profes
sional Women's club.
In Its resolutions the Legion Aux
iliary declared that the boys and
girls of Oregon will be denied edu
cational opportunities unless defin
ite aid Is forthcoming In view of the
high tax delinquency and Insuffic
ient revenues to continue school op
erations In many districts.
It calls attention to the fact that
600 school districts of Oregon are al
ready without funds and warrants
are at heavy discounts. Since the
sales tax is for Immediate school re
lief and the law requires a reduc
tion on property taxes In equal
amounts to net revenue It raises,
the auxiliary endorses the law and
pledges active support, the resolu
tions recite.
