A tremendous amount of work for

accomplished last month through the
city superintendent's office, accord
ing to the report submitted to the
street and roads committee end the
city council Tuesdny night by Fred
Ocheffel.
Through the OWA projects, much
of the work was accomplished. The
airport work, the report showed, Is
80 per cent complete under the or
iginal application. The work pend
ing under this application consists ot
placing 3000 cubic yards of crushed
rock and granite on the cross run
way. The amended application ap
proved, provides for an additional
aftOOO to be spent on the airport here,
bringing the total to S24.8O0.
Bear Creek Wall Planned.
The Bear creek Improvement Is now
88 per cent oomplete and the city la
now planning to build a rock wall
north of the Bear creek bridge.
Under street Improvements, made
possible by the OWA, the city Is pr
eceding with the elimination of the
East Main street curve and excava
tion of North Court street. This
work Is also 88 per cent oomplete.
The road to the Prescott Memorial
park Is 6 per cent complete, ex
tending to station 305.
During the month of February, ex
clusive of OWA work, the alleys In
the business section were swept once
each week and- 33 loads of buckshot
were hsuled for surfacing alleys.
Airport Improved.
The floor In the waiting room at
the airport was re-palnted and eight
new signs, directing traffic, were
painted. All flood lights In front of
the hangar building were painted.
The walls of the ctly hall were
kalsomlned and the, woodwork
painted.
The street sweeper traveled 180
miles during the month and picked
up 82 loads of aweeplngs. Two hun-

cancellation of the butter code mar
keting agreement, which would grant
the butter manufacturer an addi
tional two cent per pound spread
The following resolution to that
effect was forwarded the Mall Tribune
by the Orange today:
Whereas, the director of agricul
ture. Max Oehlar, has defended the
Interest of the dairy Industry tn his
action cancelling the butter code
marketing agreement which would
gran the butter manufacturer an ad
ditional 3o (two cents) per pouui
spread amounting to over a quarter
of a million dollars per year; for
which cause the private butter inter
est have deolared open warfare
against the director.
"Therefore, be It resolved that Cen
tral Point Orange No. 098, this the
loth ay of February, 1034, go on
record supporting the director In his
stand cancelling the above mention
ed code, and
"Furthermore, that a copy of thla
resolution be sent to the director of
agriculture and one to the Mall
