school transportation. We did not
say (as the S. V. correspondent seems
to think) t.hat all the levy In now
high school district Is used for
transportation purposes. But wi

that day. Refreshments were served

mately 60,000 Oregon ians paying
taxes this year, the tax commission
announced today.
Every individual who was a resi
dent of Oregon for the entire year of
1033 or a portion thereof must make
a. return of lncomo If his gross In
cane from all sources eqr 4s or ex
ceeds: 1. In the case of a slfgle person
or married person not living with
husband or wife:
a. 1800 or more gross Income from
all sources.
b. $500 or more gross Income from
intangibles.
c. 8700 or more gross Income If
the Intangibles Income exceeds 8400,
but a return must be filed If the
gross intangibles Income equals or
exceeds $&00 or the total gross In
come equals or exceeds 8800.
2, In the case of a married person
living with husband or wife:
a. tlfiOO or more gross- Income
from all sources.
b. $800 or more gross Income from
Intangibles.
c. 81200 or more 'gross Income If
the gross Income from Intangibles
equals or exceeds $800 or the total
gross Income equals or exceeds $1600.

These taxpnyers may .obtain blanks
by writing to the stato tax commis
sion. A Portland branch office la
maintained at 707 Oregon building
for benerit of Pprtland taxpayers.
Blanks are available at various banks
throughout the state.

does not relieve the taxpayer from the
obligation of making a rettirn. The
