Mrs. Ethel Boggs of Medford, re
tiring queen, and her officers staged
the Impressive ceremonial Tuesday
afternoon In the beautifully deco
rated lodge room of the temple. Bas
kets of daffodils and pussy willows,
and banks of potted plants were at
tractively arranged about the room.
One hundred eighty-three were en
tertained at the 7 o'clock dinner
served in the Masonic dining room,
which was charming and springlike
with bouquets of spring flowers, daf
fodils, narcissus, and acacia. In the
Nile colors of yellow and green, ar
ranged at each of the long tables.
The Alpha Social club, O. E. S..
served the bnnquet.
Supreme Queen Mabelle v Boone
acted as supreme Installing officer
during the Installation ceremonies
which occurred during the evening
session. Other Installing officers were

' Dreamland Hall
Ladles' Auxiliary of F. O. E. Is giv
ing the first of a series of card par
ties at the Dreamland hall, Tuesday
evening, Feb. 13. Prizes will be given
for pinochle and BOO. The public Is
cordially invited.
Friendship Luncheon
To Be Tuesday.
The annual Friendship luncheon,
sponsored by the Home Missionary
society of the First M. E. church, will
be held Thursday In the parlors of
the church.

dancing party was held at the
Redman hall, Friday evening, spon
sored by the Pocahontas lodge. A very
enjoyable evening was spent, the
committee in charge consisted of Ber
nlce Wilson, Maude Abbott and Wal
ter Wilson. Refreshments were served
by Gladys Dooms. Carrie Mllnea and
Zllphia Armstrong.
Mian Evallne Knudson, a very popu
lar young member of the Pocahontas
lodge Is leaving Wednesday to accept
a federal position in Washington, D.
C. Her many friends Join to wish
her much happiness and success.
Bible Conference
Opens Today '
Rev. J. Mitchell of Portland begins
a serfes of expository Bible talks on
the Person and Work of Christ this
afternoon at three o'clock in the
Baptist church on North Central Ave.
The women of the Presbyterian
Bible class are sponsoring this con
ference. Lovers of the Bible from all
denominations are urged to avail
themselves of this opportunity to
learn under this able teacher.

Delphian Subject
The Post-Delphlans met at the II-
brary February 8 for a very pleasant
session, devoted to American poetry.

poet, Robert Frost, In an Interesting
discussion, and Mrs. C. C. Lemmon
read, "The Caves of Josephine," a
poem by Anthony Euwer, well known
Oregon poet. "Forsaking All Others"
by Alice Duer Miller was read by Mrs.
Fabrlck.
Mrs. R. C. Mutholland gave a hu
morous review of Malvlna Lindsay's
"Hen Party."
Mrs. Humphry was appointed to
represent the Post-Delphlans on the
Girls Community house board. ' The
next meeting will be held on Febru
ary S3 at the library. The study will
be devoted to China.

The district conference of the Le-
glon and Auxiliary will long be re-1

The session for the auxiliary was
held at two o'clock at the Colonial
club. Mrs. Walter OLmscheid, local
president, called the meeting to order,
In the regular form. Mrs. Dorothy
Templar, district president, was In
troduced and had charge of the meet
ing for the afternoon.
A model installation was put on by
the Medford unit and a model initi
ation was given by the Ashland unit.
Several war time songs were sung,
led by Mrs. Elsie Carleton Strang.

held a delightful meeting last Mon
day evening when the afwoclate grand
matron cf Oregon. Miss Edith Phil
Hps, deputy for the grand matron,
visited the chapter. The rooms were

flowers. At the close of the meeting
