MAKES GREAT HI!
The long-awaited Shasta Cascade
Wonderland "movies" now being
shown at the Craterlan, have made
a great hit with local movie fans
and are greeted at all performances
with spontaneous and enthusiastic
applause.
Thanks to rapid action and con
densed comment, a truly marvelous
picture of the beauty spots of south
ern Oregon and northern California
Is given in a surprisingly short time.
In fact, the one criticism of the show
ing, from a local standpoint, would
probably be that It doesn't last long
enough. The audience here la al
ways asking for more, at the final
fadeout.
This, however, will be an advan
tage In other parts of the country.
Increasing saleabillty and effective
ness for where the views shown are
unfamiliar, and of a country far
away. It takes punch and tempo to
arouse and hold audience Interest.
This film has both.
Certainly, a better advertisement
for southern Oregon and northern
California could scarcely be Imagined
than this moving panorama of gor
geous color the views of Crater Lake
In winter, Rogue river, Pitt river and
Mt. Lassen are particularly attractive.
The film will be shown In all parts
of the country.

RUSSIA TOPIC OE
SI
"God's Answer to Russia" was Rev
erend W. J. Howell's topic Sunday, in
his series of sermons on Russia at the
Presbyterian church. Activities of the
Union of Socialistic Soviet Republics
were told by the minister, who also
named various organizations opposed
to the recognition of Russia by the
United States government.
Descriptions of various blasphem
ous caricatures appearing In Russian
press were given by Reverend Howell,
who declared "Blasphemy has no
meaning In Russia."
He also told how the organization
known as the "Militant Godless" was
on the Increase, the membership in
1026 being 120,000, and In 1932 four
millions. The goal for the past year
was placed at 17 million members.
"This Is God's challenge to the
godless nations of all the earth to
assemble in the valley of decision,"
Reverend Howell said In conclusion.
