Curry county la said to be the only
county In the United States without
an incorporated town or a railroad.
Repeated attempts to Incorporate
Gold Beach, the county seat, have
been voted down. Curry had a popu

strated the preparing of milk and
cheese dishes w.'ilch were used for
the noon luncheon. A large birth
day cake was presented to the chair
man, Mrs. Eva Seggesman. At the
business session the ladles planned
to give a dinner and program at the
school house In February to enter
tain the husbands and children, a
special meeting will be .held at Alma
Marri man's Jan. 18 to finish some
work. There were 39 ladlea present.
All report an Interesting and pleas

Mrs. Minnie Blaass la very sick
with flue at her home here. Mrs.

the passing of their little daughter,
Ellnore, following her recent opera
tion. Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Hutohtnson are
leaving on Jan. 15 for several weeks'
vacation In Portland, Tacoma and
Seattle.. During their absence Mr.
and Mrs. Boyd Tucker will take care
of their home on the highway.

Tuesday night about 36 boys met
with Mr. Krlbs tn the dining room

a boy scout club..
Monday night the city council
met. The new officers were sworn
in. Rolpt Will, who was elected
councilman, resigned and Walter
Combs waa appointed to flit his
place. The city ordinance waa
changed so aa the city license on
pool tables was reduced from 10 to
(5 and to allow the pool hall to put
In two tables Instead of one.
