RATE HIGH SAYS
. E. C. KELLY
A fine word for General Martin of
Oregon Is expressed In a letter re
ceived this week from Mrs. Edward
C. Kelly, who Is now In Washington,
D. C, with her husband. In the
capital, she writes, he Is accepted as
one of the finest gentlemen and most
able men the west or any other sec
tion has contributed. The outstand
ing ability of Charles H. McNary 1
also evident, wherever talk Is heard,
Mrs. Kelly also writes.
Referring to progress of the Med
ford application for sewage plant con
struction funds, Mrs, Kelly states
that little Is known on the outside
regarding the progress of any of the
project applications, and that Rie
Public Works administrator takes
particular precaution not to let any
one, particularly lobbyists, know who
Is handling them. The workers In
the legal division, where Mr. Kelly Is
located, she states, do what they can
to suggest changes to strengthen the
possibilities of their own state's pro
jects going through. But they get no
publicity. All the Public Works em
ployees, she writes, are working long
Into the night In an effort to speed
the work, which Is tremendous in
volume.
Prices are high and dressing very
formal, Mrs. Kelly announces, turn
ing to a lighter vein and most mem
bers of the legal staff of the public j
works administration have come from j
the south. Western accents are few
and far between.
A conference with Dr. Estella Ford
Warner, formerly of Oregon, and an
intimate friend of Miss Mildred Carl
ton of the Old Stage road, Is also!
reported in Mrs. Kelly's letter. !

New Ruling Makes Labels
Accurate
To protect the buying public, the
United States Food and Drug Ad
ministration has advised that every
package of cereal labeled "Bran
state on the label exactly what it
contains.
Before this ruling, even part
bran products were sometimes mis
takenly referred to as "Bran." It
was not easy for the purchaser to
distinguish between a cereal that
was entirely bran, or all bran with
flavoring, and another that was
mostly wheat
Kellogg's All-Bran Is labeled
"All-Bran Deliciously Flavored
with Malt, Sugar and Salt," a state
ment which describes the product
fairly and honestly.
Kellogg's All-Bran has won mil
lions of friends because it corrects
most types of common constipation
safely and pleasantly. It furnishes
generous "bulk" needed to pro
mote normal elimination.
However, All-Bsan is not a
"cure-all." Certain types of intes
tinal disorders should be treated
only on a physician's advice.
When you buy a bran cereal, for
the relief of constipation, read the
wording on the package. The facts
are there I Make sure by asking
for Kellogg's All-Bran. It fur
nishes "bulk" in a form for satis
factory results.
At all grocers. In the red-and-green
package. Made by Kellogg in
Battle Creek.
