Mr. Abram suffered a painful acci
dent when a log rolled on him, crush
ing his hand so badly one flmer
had to be amputated and breaking
two of hi ribs. Mr. Abrm and a
neighbor were cutting wood. He Is
getting along ver well.

world over, are well described in a
clever poem received here by friends
of Mrs. Eudora G. Howard, daugh
ter or the late Mrs. Mary J. John
of Williams creek, and the second
white child born In Josephine coun
ty. Mrs. Howard now lives In San
Francisco, where she Is prominent in
club circles.
A sister of Stela St rattan and
Mrs. E. W. Hemott of Medford. ahe
visits here often and at ill has many
friends In the valley.
Mrs. Howard graduated from the
Jacksonville high school and later
taught school there before marrying
J. W. Howard and moving to Grants
P. where Mr. Howard owned the
first general merchandise store
the city. Years later the Howards
moved to San Francisco to give their
only daughter Eulsh. an education
in music. As Eulah Howard Thomas,
the lntter Is well known in the bay
district and she often appears In
radio programs, broadcast from San
Francisco.
