NEW TYPE PLANE
FOR FLYING SEA!
Fuselage To Be Used For
Balance Only, Says Ex
pert Diesel Engine.
Would Provide Power For
Driving.
By HEXHT T. RfMELL
LONDON. (UP) Monster "wing
planes," equipped with Diesel engine
which will cross the Atlantic In 20;
hours In all weather, are the real j
solution to the problem of trana- j
Atlantic nymg lor wntcn mnauergu
is investigating routes, according to
Louis Breguet, French airplane con
structor. Breguet, here on a vacation, aald
that he had not come here In con
nectlon with Llndbergh'a trans-Atlantic
survey.
"Personally." he said, "I am con
vinced that the really commercially
paying trans-Atlantic flying machine
has not been built. For the moment
I. for one, have neither the time nor
the available capital to Invest In the
experiments which would be required
"I visualize the future trana-At-lantlo
plane as 'flying wings," a ma
chine of which the body would be for
balancing purpose only. The load
of the machine would be carried In
the wlnga. These would have to be
sufficiently blfr to accommodate the
average man standing up. That would
enable passengers to live In the plane
mute comfortably.
. "The fact that the plane would
be equipped with Diesel engines,
which by the time the experimental
plane la built will have been per
fected for use In flying machines
should enable the plane to escape
bad weather by climbing far higher
than plane equipped with petrol en
gines can fly."
Breguet' "wing plane" would weigh
100 .ton or more (compared with
Dornler D.O.X.' 40 tone). The win?
span would be approximately 300 feet.
The body would be comparatively
short, 120 feet.
"I thought of the idea over 10
years ago and even lectured on it
In the unltea states, ne saia. .
I atlll am convinced a ever that
therein Ilea the solution to commer
cially paying trans-Atlantic flying."

J. M. Frees of Medford has given
a number of bible lectures at Phoe
nir In the Christian church, show
ins that words of Jesus and not the
ten commandments wilt constitute
the standard of the Judgment for
christians.
This comes aa a little shock to
many but Is by no misuse a new
doctrine as It was foretold by Clod
In Deut. 18:10. preached by Peter,
Acts 8:32. by Stevens. Acts 7:37. nnd
by Paul In I Cor. 0:21; 3 Cor. 3, Heb.
12. John, the beloved dlaclple, la very
clear on Vila subject, even terming
the laws pass over the Sabbath, that
God gave Israel as Jewish.
Frees declared the only way to up
hold the decalogue. Instead of the
sayings of Jesus as the new cove
nant law was to Jgnoro certain pas
sages of scripture and to do this Is
contrary to the teaching of Christ,
which Is to live by every word. He
further stated that he had never
known a friend of Seventh Day to
be familiar with a few dozen pas
sages of scripture that are decidedly
against that doctrine.
The speaker spent some time In
reading from the writings of Mrs.
T. O. White, the Adventlst, prophet
ess, in regard to the wholesale con
demnation of Sunday keeping
churches, how even their prayers
are an abomination In the sight of
God, that they worship God In vain,
teaching tor doctrine the command
ments of men.
It was brought out that all of
this wholesale condemnation was di
rectly traceable to a scissor method
of Bible study, aa well as a scissor
method In studying so-called In
spired writings of Mrs. White In re
gard to diet, dress, Jewelry, etc., and
the average Adventlst not even at
tempting to live according to her
teaching.
