going an operation at & local hospital

Louise Hollenback, supervisor of art

demonstration tomorrow at the meet
ing of the Primary Teachers' council,
called for 1:30 o'clock at the court
house auditorium. Each member Is
asked to bring her crayons.

Wells Returns Deputy United
States Marshal Cal C. Wells returned
to Medford today on the Oregonian
from Portland, where Wednesday he
took 10 federal prisoners from Klam
ath county. All ten were booked on
charges of selling liquor to Indians,
Officer Wells said.
Formerly of Ashland Harry Ray
mond, about 48 years of age. former
resident of Ashland, ended his own
life by asphyxiation in Portland Wed
nesday, according to information re
ceived here today. According to the
information he was found dead m bis
room by a woman who brought him

day stated that the family had bran
given enough to make thtm comfort
able.
TO MEDFORD CENTER
After 17 years In the lame offices.
Dr. Charles T. Sweeney has decided
to move and on Monday opens his
new offices In the Medford Center
building. These offices will consist
of six rooms, Including two recep
tion rooms, consulting room, labra
tory, treatment room and physio
therapy room.
It Is believed Dr. Sweeney will have
one of the most up to date, and best
equipped medical suites In the south-
ern part of the state.
STRIKING OF METEOR
VIEWED BY STEVENS
George W. Stevens, who resides In
the Fern Valley section, was a visitor
in Medford this morning, and re
ported that the strange meteor which
was seen by several last Friday, came
to the ground northeast of the Charles
Luman place in the vicinity of the
Campbell Dairy.
Going Into a funnel-shaped spray,
the brilliant sparks showered to the
ground, he said, in every color of the
spectrum. Mr. Stevens said he eaw
a similar formation on Ross Lane
about seven years ago.
