A baseball game was plsyed on the
Butte Falls high school dnmond Sun
day afternoon between the regular
Lnke of the Woods CCO team and
the negroes of the Butte Falls CCC
camp. The score waa 23 to 8 In lavor
of the former.
There was a packed hall the
Armistice dance Saturday. Moore's
orchestra played, also Mr. and Mrs.
Botts. Many CCO boys intended.
Among Medford people there were Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Young. Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Hoover, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hlg
Inbotham and Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Patton. Carson's confectionary served
supper.
Mr. and Mrs. Loren Moore have
bought the Earl Hoover residence.

In September produced an average
of 534 pounds milk containing 37.4
potuida fat. This placed the Rogue
River assoclstton second In the state
for the month.
R. E. Roblson of Talent had the
high herd of over 30 cows for the
month. Ills herd of 31 Jerseys pro
duced sn average of 58Q pounds of
milk and 83.1 pounds butterfst. '
L. O. Gates ot Oranta Pass had
the high herd In the 12-30 cow group.
His herd averaged 802 pounds milk
and 45.8 pounda fat. This waa the
high herd for. the state for the
montii of September, as well as for
August.
The high herd In the less than 13
oow group belongs to J. R. MoCracken
of Valley View. His herd averaged
830 pounds milk containing 45.3
pounds fat. "
The two over 20 cow herds with
the highest total average production
for the first four months of the test
ing year belong to L. H. Gallatin of
Valley View, with an average of 3.820
pounda milk and 1313 pounds fst;
snd R. E. Robison with a total aver
age of 3.24S pounda milk and 118.8
pounds fat.
The two herds with the highest
total average In the 13-20 cow group
belong to L. O. Gaiea, with a total

tidal wave. Is being mapped by the
home ministry.
Ambitious plans call for the grad
ual removal ot 66 villages In iTSte
prefecture with a population ot 20.000
from their present waterfront loca
tions to new sites Inland.
Not too far Inland, however, for th
hardy fishing folk of these villages
gain their living from the sea. But
far enough and high enough as to be
beyond the reach of the terrible tidal
waves that often ravage this coast
after earthquake.

The new villages are to be laid out
with civic centers and wide street
and with modern road linking up
the entire region.
The sites chosen are such as th
records of hundreds of years hare
shown to be beyond the reach of any
tidal wave.
