The Impreailv ceremony was read
by Father Francl W. Black before
the candle lighted sanctuary, decor
ated In bouquets of yellow, while and
bronze chrysanthemums. Ferns and
potted palms were used with the fa
vored autumn flowers to add beauty
to the altar.
Preceding the wedding service soft
organ music was played by Sebastian
Apollo of this city. Then louder
strains announced the arrival of the
bridal party. The bride entered the
ihurch on the arm of her father and
was attired In long fitted gown of
whit satin, created on princess lines
with long glove sleeves, forming a
pronounced puff above the elbow,
and with high neckline. Her deep
auburn balr was lovely beneath a veil
of tulle, caught high at the back of
her head by a sprny of orange bloi
aoms. The deep lace edging of the
veil fell In a train beneath her dress,
fihe wore mlts on her hands and car
ried a shower bouquet of orchids,
gardenias and miles of the valley.
Little Mlas Rosemary Marshall,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mar
shall, and Larry Hayes, young son of
Dr. and Mrs. James C. Have), who led
the bridal procession, were dressed In
quaint frock and eton suit. The little
girl carried an old fashioned bouquet
of roees and violet.
Miss Mary Hayes, the bride's maid
of honor, waa attired In frock of blue
taffeta, long and fitted In style, and
wore turban and mlts of harmonizing
color. She carried an arm bouquet
of Talisman roses.
Misses Kathleen and Marlon Nt'-a,
bridesmaids, wore frocks of crayon
rose and gold, colors which empha
iced the other autumn tones pre
dominant In the church. Shallow
turbans with net brims and mlts of
the same color completed their cos
tumes. They carried large bouquet
or enrysanthemums.
Donald Helllwell of Marehfleld was
best man for the groom and Ford
Singleton of Roaeburg and Thoa. H.
Dees, Jr., of Oregon Stat college,
ushers.
Mra. James O. Hayes sang the "Ave
Maria" during the service and Harold
Corliss the communion hymn.
Following the wedding a reception
for 100 guests woe held at the Hotel
Medford, where Mrs. wlllard Johnson
of Roseburg, Mrs. Hayes of Medford
and Mra. Walter Frederlckaon of Rose
burg poured. Assisting In ssrvlng
were the Misses Genevieve and Vir
ginia Ness, sisters of the bride, here

Has Busy Meeting
The South Side circle of the Bap
tist church, which has aa Its motto.
"There's so much to do and so little
done", had a busy day last week at
the home of the captain, Mrs. George
B. Young of Orchard Home. Aprons,
qutlt blocks and tea towels were made
at the all day session with S3 women
present. It waa announced that 40
calls had been made and plans for a
Christmas gift and cooked food sale
to be held December 1ft, were dis
cussed.
The meeting closed with singing.

add that the annual Thanksgiving
dinner at parish hall will precede the
holiday by more than a week, having
been arranged for November 23.
Mrs. Weston 1 directing th home
cooked, turkey dinner again thla year
and an inviting menu la promised
with the issue of a cordial Invitation
to the public.

The lunch room at tho Washing
ton school Is now In operation and
serving an average of 35 children each
day, it wa reported yesterday.
A nourishing, hot dish, supple
mented by a cup o" hot chocolate,
or simple dessert Is served for five
cents and the service Is meeting with
great favor.
The work la under auspices of the
P.-T. A. end Is continued from last
year, aa It waa found a great con
venience to children living far from
the school and forced to eat a cold
lunch.
During the rainy weather as many
aa 150 benefited from the work. The
menus ejlven In the Home Economics
bulletin are used aa a basis for the
meals.

Tha largest crowd of Mason and
Eastern Stars to gather In th Ma
sonic temple here since It dedication
met there Thursday night for covered
dish supper and a festive evening of
entertainment. There were approxi
mately 300 present.
Following dinner a short program
waa presented with Mayor E. M. Wil
son and Otto DeJarnett tailing on
the refinancing plan of the temple.
J. A. Perry later gave an Interesting
description of his trip through the
Canadian northwest. Illustrating It
wKh moving pictures, showing the
wild life of the country.
The evening was completed with
dancing. Congratulationa were ex
tended by all present to the commit
tees responsible for the very success

The drive for membership carried
on by the Medford Fraternal Order
of Eagles for the past six week ha
gone over the top. and according to
Jack Hueston, president of the local
aerie, this haa been the niost uc
cessful drive ever conducted In the
state of Oregon, having more than
trebled the memberehlD since the
drive started.
Success of th drlv is due to the
special dispensation granted by the
grand aerie reducing the initiation
fee from 35 to aj.
Thla campaign, which ha been o
successfully carried on for the past
few week, will close Friday night,
November 17. at which time the
largest class of the entire drive will
be initiated at the Airnory, under di
rection of State President D. D. Hale.
