SUNDAY
In Rialto Hit

cf . : t t s
George O'Brien Is at the Rialto
theater today and Saturday in Zane
Grey's "The Last Trail." It has siz
zling speed, breakneck action, tender
romance and hilarious comedy. Its
theme, dealing with the transfer of
racketeer activities from beer-running
in the big city to cattle rustling on
the plans, is something decidedly new
in adventuresome film fare. Claire
Trevor is again O'Brien's leading lady
and El Brendel, with the help of
Matt McHugjh and Lucille La Verne,
handles the comedy with highly cap
able hands.
Saturday night is again preview
night at the Rialto theater, and
"Laughter in Hell," starring Pat
O'Brien and Gloria Stuart, has been
chosen as the extra feature. It is a
motion picture version of the story
by Jim Tully, and points sharply at
the chain gang system in a certain
southern state. Those attending the
9 o'clock show are invited to remain
as guests after the regular program,
for the preview showing of "Laughter
in Hell.'
Preview Feature
On Rialto's Bill
For the regular Saturday night pre
view tomorrow night, the Crateriah
theater has chosen "The Man Who
Dared," featuring Preston Foster, Zita
Johann and Joan Marsh.
"The Man Who Dared," is an an im
aginative biography of the life of the
late Anton Cermak, mayor of Chicago,
who stepped in front of the assassin's
bullet meant for President Roosevelt.

Famous Star
Beloved May Robson, who recently
celebrated her fiftieth anniversary in
show business, ascends the pinnacle
of stardom in "Lady for a Day,"' com
ing to the Craterian theater Sunday.
In the picture, Miss Robson plays the
role of an old apple vendor who is
made "lady for a day" in order to
live up to the falsehoods she had told
her daughter a daughter who, edu
cated abroad, had not seen her moth
er for years. A brilliant supporting
cast includes Warren William, Glen
da Farrell, Guy Kibbee, Ned Sparks
and many others.
In Chicago simultaneously with tho
great fire, precede first glimpses of
the boy. , Then we are shown the
miner getting into politics, an assem
blyman fighting the miners' battles
in the legislature. Then follows his
marriage, his election as the mayor
of Chicago, his fight to wipe out
gangsterism, the shooting at Miami,
where he goes to meet the new Presi
dent; his dying words, "I'm glad it
was I, not you."
