Pear and apple growers can well
afford to take advantage of the pres
ent good weather and apply their
dormant lime sulfur spray for the
control of San Jose scale and blister
mlt, states County Agent I. P, Wil
cox. v
The advantages of fall spraying are
many, especially In cases where or
chards are located on heavy clay
soils that remain wet and soft late
in the spring.
Liquid lime sulfur, 13 gallons to
the 100 gallons of water, applied any
time after the foliage has been re
duced to the point where coverage
of branche la made' possible, will be
effective in the control of scale and
blister mite Insects.
Growers following such a program
should not start their sprsylng too
early in the morning, thus to permit
frost and other moisture to disappear
from the trees. Care should also be
exercized In draining the spray pump
each nglht in order to forestall any
freezing of this essential piece of or

OFFERS SMART
NASH CAR LINE
Now It can be told!
I Todsy, throughout th week and
during the month to corns, the Nash
Motors company la formally present
ing to American motorists the three
entirely new and different series of
1934 motor cara which for weeks past
have been the conaumlng Interest of
automobile experts the country over.
In Med ford special announcement
displays and receptions are open to
the publle tomorrow In the show
rooms of Walter W. Abbey. Inc., Nash
dealer, at 123 South Riverside, and
In other Nash showrooms throughout
the territory.
Never In the history of Nash Mo
tors has public interest in a new car
development been so Intense and
widespread. The news leaked out
months ago that Nasi engineers and
designers were developing a 1934 pro
duct bo striking In style and In ad
vanced performance qualities that it
would literally change American auto
mobile standards and make motoring
a sport again.
As this development work advanced,
Interest and anticipation grew. First
it swept the engineering and techni
cal world, where twh engineering
genius and the company's ninny con
tributions to motoring Improvement
are matters of permanent record. Then
distributors and dealers were given
an opportunity to see the first new
models produced, and their -enthusiasm
stirred merchandising circles
to a point above any new model event
in Nash history. Many new dlstribu
torships and dealerships were added
to the big Nash organization long be
fore any of the new cars were avail
able. Then alert people of the motoring
public, always eager to be first with
the latest, set up an unprecedented
advance demand for the 1934 models.
Many buyers signed orders from the
catalog pictures, without actually
seeing a single new Nash model a
sales event which has not happened
generally since the earlier days of the
industry. This public Interest grew
until Nash officials decided o over
throw tradition and to exhibit some-
of the first available new models tn
tht Nash plate glass tower at the
Century of Progress Exposition and
at other points In the country as soon
as early shipments could go forward.
As a result, thousands have seen and
approved the new Nash achievement
while the company's factories were
gathering headway by day and night
operations In order to meet the ur
gent demand throughout the country.
Now the new 1934 models are avail
able for the biggest national presenta
tion experienced tn years by the auto
mobile industry, and can be viewed
by all mr' irlsU,
