Steal Physician's Kit The person
who stole Dr. A. F. W. Kresse'a con
finement kit yesterday, apparently
wanted something else, for the kit
was thrown aside In the alley, where
it wu later located by city police, to
whom the theft had been reported.

Tales of a mystery ship In the fog
about Point Bur, 110 miles south
of here yesterday morning, and death
to three officers that came In the
crash of the D. 8. 8. Chicago and
the British freighter SUverpalm were
told today by officers of the cruiser
as It prepared to proceed to Mare
Island naval yard to get the 40-foot
bole torn In her port bow repaired.
The two ahtpa crashed at 6 a. m,
yesterday, while, Vice-Admiral Har
ris Lantng. Captain Manley Simons
and Captain Herbert E. Kays, said,
the Chicago maneuvered to escape a
large freighter off our starboard
side, which disappeared In the fog a
few minutes later."
