REVIEW
By Mary Orel net Kelly.
-If you have a favorite screen Idol
and it isn't Katharine Hepburn, wait
until you see the latter In "Morning
Glory," Radio production Which open
ed to a capacity house at Hunt's Cra
terian yesterday. I
She Is different from anybody else
you've ever seen even the Hepburn
you thought you knew before. While
playing a young girl in both produc
tions, she 1 no more the same per
sonality she was In "Bill of Divorce,
ment" than If she were two separate
beings.
And what about the play? It really
doesn't matter, though If you're curi
ous, 'Morning Glory" concern a crazy,
stage struck kid's haphazard and
cruel road to success on Broadway.
If the play ha pathos and comedy
In It, Katharine Hepburn put It
there. If It has fault and It has,
plenty of them he doesn't let you
discover them until you're out of the
theater.
Her supporting cast, Including the
very capable Adolphe Menjou, Doug
las Fairbanks, Jr., and Mary Duncan,
are all one could demand In twelr
roles. But Katharine gives you some
thing over and above what you ex
pect. And If you don't like her, you'll
at least never forget her.

FOOTBALL WOLF
NEW YORK, Oct. 12. (AP) It's
been a long time since football has
broken any attendance records, but
the early returns from the 1033 sea
son show definite signs of a rebound
from the depths that were reached
last year.
A nation-wide survey by the As so-
coated Press, covering the early
games of 32 representative colleges,
shows improved attendance figures
on all sides and a total gain of over
200,000. Where fewer than a half
million fans had turned out at this
stage of the season a year ago, the
1033 total for the schools listed is
705,880.
