brief career, the 22-year-old Pasadena
youngster has signed a one-year con
tract with Big Bill Tllden on terms
Tllden declines to disclose, but which
possibly will net Vines about 25,000
for 1934.
The tall Callfornlsn. amateur cham
pion of the United States In 1931 and
1932. will make his professional debut
In a match with Tllden In Madison
Square Garden. January 10.
Then will follow a short tour to
the Pacific coast and back, after
which Tllden and Vines will engage
In a series of nine contests.
