If yoo feel tuur and sunk and the world
look punk, don't swallow a lot of Btlti, min

and expect them to make you suddenly aweet
tad buoyant and full of sunshine.
For they can't do it. They only move the
bowels and a mere movement doesn't set at
the cause. The reason for your down-and-out
feeling is your liver. It should pour out two
pounds of liquid bile into your bowel daily.
If this bile la not flowing freely, your food
doesn't digest. It ust decays In the bowels.
Gas bloats up your stomach. You have a
thick, bad taste and your breath Is foul,
kin often breaks out in blemishes. Your head
achea and you feel down and out. Your whole
system la poisoned.
It takes those good, old CARTER'S

EAGLE POINT GRANGE
IN RECREATION CLUB
By Mrs. Bltterllng.
Eagle Point Orange met in regu
lar session October 3. During the
business hour new Recreational club
leaders were appointed, including
Mrs. Lulu Taylor, Miss Minnie Put

Lecture hour was very interesting,
consisting ot tableaux and songs. The
pictures represented were copied from
old Grecian prints and showed the
court of the Goddesses, Flora, Po
mona and Ceres and closing with a
grouping of all, with the supreme
goddess of Demcter giving her her
blessings. The tableaux were directed
by Sister Gertrude Haak and were
very beautifully played.
The hour closed with a talk from
two Grange visitors, Mrs. Buckingham
of Medford and Mrs. Thompson of
Central Point Grange, on the milk
and cream situation of the valley.
H. E. club met at the home of Mrs.
Violet Spencer September 27 with

from a look at these prices that they
are low many of them lower than
they were last falL
And here's the other big fact to know
they buy Goodyear Pathfinders one
of America's five largest-selling tires
with the safety of center traction and
30 more mileage than they gave a
year ago.
Think a moment. Winter's coming
with more danger of slipping more

wise to buy now have new Goodyears

LOCAL OBSERVER
Monthly meteorological note for
September, aa compiled by W. J
Hutchison, local metorolog 1st, show a
month of mild, seasonable weather
with near normal temperatures for
the moat part. Light showers fell oc
casionally during the latter half of
the month. Overcast skies or broken
cloudiness predominated with scat
tered periods of clear weather.
On the first day the maximum
thermometer registered 90 degrees, a
highest temperature for the month
During the balance of September
dally high temperatures remained
mostly well below 00 degrees. As a
matter of interesting comparison, and
to indicate the mildness of the tern
pp rat lire through September, 1033
past records for the month show max
imums of 104 degrees as having oc
curred in 1023. and 1023. Minimum
temperatures averaged 44 degrees,
with no great daily variation. The
lowest recorded was 35 degrees on
the 30th. I
Except for traces of rain on thei
5th and 14th, the first hslf of the
month passed without precipitation ,
Beginning on the 17th, showery
weather set in and there were occa :
sional light rains almost dally until,
the 25th, after which settled fall j
weather with clear or partly cloudy
skies and moderate temperatures pre-,
vailed until the close. Precipitation
totaled 0.31 Inch, a deficiency of 031
Inch aa compared with normal. The
greatest' 24-hour rainfall totaled O.il
inch.
Drying weather conditions continu
ing into the first half of September
from an exceedingly dry August, In
creased fire hazards In forested areas
considerably. However, there were
but few forest fires in this area and
no serious or extensive fires were re
ported. This fact was partly due to
the absence of vigorous thunder
