Mr. Jerome to bring every one -of
them Into his organisation plana.
Interviewed yesterday morning. Mr.
Jerome stated that he had not yet
determined the character of the en
tertainment which will be offered
during the time of the celebration
except ttiat he la determined to put
over the biggest home product ex
hibition of Oregon-made goods ever
aasembled In the state. It la expect
ed that definite arrangements re-1
gardlng the entertainment features
of the celebration will be determined
Immediately the committee to handle j
'his work Is organized. Mr. Jerome
believes that on account of Medford ;
possessing such a wonderful airport '
that a gigantic air circus can be !
arranged for and he has already ;
started negotiations In that direction, j
It will be the aim of the general
committee to closely tie Jacksonville
Into the celebration and undoubtedly
citizens of that community will be ;
given tne responsibility of assem-,
bllng exhibitions of old time relics, i
In ordr to emphasize the historical i
background of Jackson county.
Hon. Joseph K. Carson, mayor of
Portland, when here recently, assured
Mr. Bolger that he would help Med
ford In every way possible to make
the celebration a success, and ac
cepted, at that time, an honorary
membership on the committee. E.
Wetnbaum, department manager of
the Portland chamber of commerce,
la also an honorary member of the
general committee.
In the near future Mr. Jerome
plana to call upon Governor Julius
L. Meier and Mayor Carson to dis
cuss various phases of the anniver
sary with them, and also to visit a
number of Portland citizens to ob
tain further information regarding
some of the entertainment features
which he has in mind at the present
time.
During the next few days he will
devote his energies to creating a gen
eral committee to wore with him and
also the formation of the many sub
committees which will be necessary
to carry out the big job ahead.
Chamber of Commerce members were
delighted yesterday that Mr. Jerome
had acctAd the responsibility, par
ticularly because of the successful
manner In whloh he has conducted
other celebrations heretofore in Medford.
To Go East Announcement has
been received at the CCC headquar
ters here that all naval and marine
officers In the district who are com
pany commanders of the companies
which are being sen east, will accom
pany their groups east, and will not
return to the local' district. No defi
nite word has been received from
Headquarters In San Francisco as to
the number of camps to be left In
the Medford area. Lieutenant Carl R.
Armbrust of the headquarters stated.
Completes Duties Ranger George
Barron of Crater Lake national parit
