O. Pipes. 77, widow of the ls.t Judge
Martin L. Pipes, died at her home
here last night. Judge Pipes, one of
the best Known attorneys In the state,
died in July. 1033.
Mrs. Pipes was born In Alabama
in 1856, and married Judge Pipes in
that state in 1874. A few months later
the two came to Oregon, settling
tear Independence. Lattr they moved
to Corvallt, and In 1893 they came
to Portland.
Three sons and two daughters sur
vive. Other surviving relatives In
clude two brothers, ths Rev. Walton
Sklpworth of Portland and Judge a.
F. Sklpworth of Eugene, and Mrs.
Eula B. Wood of Monmouth, a sister.

last two years on the left fork of
Williams creek recently met his fate
at the hands of a Mr. Mullen one
evening last week. It waa discovered
by Mr. Mullen feasting on applea and
while hla amall daughter held a fiasn
light. Mr. Mullen killed him. It took
two shots. When dressed he weighed
over 400 pounds.
