Methodist church, given in honor of
several former pastors, a missionary,
and several old-time members who

formerly at Grants Pass.

Mra. R. P. Mortensen and daughter
Louise left on the train this morning
for Springfield, where they will at
tend the golden wedding anniversary
party of Mrs. Mortensen 'a parents,
Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Schnetsky on
Monday. They wlU be Joined there
by Dr. Mortensen.

few days spent In Portland, where he
attended the sales meeting of the
Investors' Syndicate. He also attend
ed the doubleheader baseball game
played by Portland and Los Angeles,
and enjoyed his stay In the north
very much, he reported today.

Andrews is among members of the
Medford school staff, who have re
turned to the city for the re-opening
of school. While spending the sum
mer In Eugene, where she took some
advanced work at the University of
Oregon, she continued to the Girl
Scout camp, attended by a number
of Medford 'girls.

Mrs. Christie Posses News of the
death of Mrs. Wellington Christie of
New Westminster, B. C, has been re
ceived here and Mrs. Laura Aiming

who had visited frequently in Med
ford. is remembered here by many
friends. She was the sister of Mrs.
Aiming, Colonel E. E. Kelly and Fred
Kelly, all of Medford. Her death was
very sudden and the news came as

Nominations next Monday evening
will close the entry of candidates for
the forthcoming election In Medford
post of the American Legion. The
lineup of nominations made at the
last meeting guarantees several hot
campaigns for official places in the
veterans' organization.
Plans for sending the post's drum
and bugle corps to the Treka Gold
Rush Jubilee will be discussed Mon
day, and It Is reported there Is con
siderable sentiment among the corps
members for making the Junket to
