Prentices Return
From Trip East
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Prentice and
eons returned last Tuesday from an
extensive motor trip through the east
Including a visit to the world's fslr,
evsral days In New York, and at
Washington, D. O. They stopped In
Cortland last Saturday to visit with
friends there until Tuesday.
While In New York they visited
Mrs. Oeorge Andrews and son, George
Sdward, who recently lett Medford to
make their home with Madame Alice
Parker, slater of Ed Andrews and the
lste George Andrews of this city.
They also met Miss Csrollne Andrews,
opera singer, also formerly of Med
ford. Mra. Andrews In sending greetings
fcsck to her Medford friends by the
Prentices, stated that she Is enjoying
Sew York to the utmost and Madame
Parker announced that Oeorge Ed
ward would be alnglng on the Metro
politan circle In the near future.
Speaking of the fair, the Prentice
described It as a wonderful exhibi
tion of progress, but were more en
thusiastic in their praise of the
entlea and parka, the Smithsonian In
tltutlon, and other government
buildings visited at the capital. They
were fortunate in encountering no
extreme weather, they stated, and da.

One of the most pleasant events

school set waa the treasure hunt and
supper for which Mlsa Joan DcLoeh
was h on tens Friday evening. Leaving

and guests continued to Edge wood
park, on Rogue River, where the
search was on. After the treasure
was located by Miss Anna Mae Puson
and Dick Watson, the guests contin
ued to the Phetteplaco cabin, where

By Many Guests '
Dr. and Mra. Dwlght H. Findley of
this city entertained a number of
friends during the past 10 days, who
called here to visit them In their
new home. Among them were J.
Drlskoll, attorney of San Diego, Cal.,
and Mrs. Paul Blanchard and family
of Chicago, where Mr. Blanchard la
attorney for Armour Bros. Mrs. Blan
chard Is the daughter of Dr. Sherman
Lough ridge of Grsnt Pass and both
have many friends , In the Rogue
River valley.
Dr. and Mrs. Roy Lochenour and
son Lynn, of Salem were also recent
guests at the -Findley home. Dr.
Lochenour is dean of the law school
at Willamette university.
Miss Edith Findley of Salem waa
house guest of the Findley s here last
week. She waa accompanist for the
trio and quartet winning the state
American Legion Auxiliary contest In
Klamath Falls, which entitles the
group to a trip to Chicago this fall
for entrance In national competition.
The same trio won the national con
test In Portland.
Another visitor at the Findley
home was Dr. K. Johnson, member
of the staff of the California State
hospital at Napa. He arrived by
plane from Portland and remained
for a few days fishing, continuing
later to San Francisco.

Mr. Orr To Wed
Miss Barbara McOust, daughter of
Paul McOuat, la leaving Monday for
Vancouver, Wash., where she will be
married to Charles Orr, son of Mrs.
Mildred 'n of Eugene.
The couple will be accompanied by
Mr. and Mrs. Steven Orr of McMlnn
vllle. brother and alster-ln-law of the
groom. Following the ceremony, they
plan to leave for Canada on a wed
ding trip.

Portland, where Mr. Orr Is an In
structor In Orant high school. ' -

made her home here for several years.
Fidelity Circle
Welcomes New Member
The Fidelity - circle met last week
at the home of Mrs. E. 8. Httzler on
West Holly for the regular business
meeting of the month. One new com
mlttoe was appointed, the members
to act as a welcoming groop to greet
nil newcomers 8t the church door.
For the first month the committee
will be composed of Mrs. H. L. Gil
lette and Mrs. -R. p. Mortensen. The
circle welcomed a new member, Mrs.
C. H. Beer of 311 Laurel street, at
the meeting.
Mrs. Olllette directed the program
of the last session of the circle and
presented Harold Olllette In a very
clever reading. She also directed
two contests, using names of flowers,
which proved Interesting. After the
program refreshments were served.
The next meeting of the circle will
be at the home of Mrs. Smylle.

entertaining last week. Prizes at her
party were won by Miss Joan DeLlsh
and Miss Evelyn Leonard.

Shrine club Events
Mr. and Mrs. O. O. Alenderfer and
Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Cunningham left
yesterday noon for North Bend,
where they were guests last night at
the dancing party of the Shrine club,
and where they are attending the
Shrine picnic today. The dancing
party at the North Bend hotel was
also attended by Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Thompson of this city and Mr. and
Mra. Cass of Grants pass.

To Meet Wednesday
The Prlscllla circle met at the
home of Mrs. peter Dietrich on North
Central Wednesday aiternoon for a
very happy session. After the busi
ness meeting a program was present
ed. Including piano solos by Mrs.
Carrie McDannel, two songs by little
Margaret Ricks and a reading by
Mrs. Fred Barker on cards.
Mrs. Mary Wiley also entertained
with a childhood poem, "My Dolly'
and Mrs. Blanche Jenkins and Mrs."
Dietrich sang "Tell Me the Old, Old
Story."

Guests From North
Dr. and Mra. S. G. Longley of
Bremerton, Wash., arrived here last
Wednesday, accompanied by Gordon
Kershaw for a short visit with Mr.
and Mrs. P, M. Kershaw before con
tinuing to San Francisco and points
south for a several weeks' vacation,
Gordon Kershaw Joined them In the
north after visiting Mrs. Kershaw In
Seattle for the past month. Mrs.
Kershaw Is still a patient at the Rlb
ertson sanitarium, but la Improving
steadily and expects to return to her
home in Medford about October 1.
