Under the dispensation the code
provides that no barber or any em
ploye of a barber shop shall be em
ployed more than 48 hours of one
week. No beautician or any employe
or a beauty shop shall be employed
more than 48 hours in one week
No barber or beautician shall em
ploy office employes for more than
so hours a week. The maximum
hours fixed shall not apply to per
sons engaged In managerial or ex-
ecutlve capacities, but shall apply to
owners or operators of shops who are
tctlvely working at barberlng or In
the beauty salon.
By way of service to the public,
under the code, the barbers and
beauticians shall be required to fin
ish serving all patrons who arrived
and remained In the shop before the
time of closing. The "time of such
service shall not be computed in de
termining the total number of hours
worked under the provisions of this
code. No overtime shsll be paid for
such service.
A minimum of 52 hours a week
open la also set for barbers and
beauticians In the code. All shops
must remain open 62 hours a week,
except those operating for less time
previous to July 1. Minimum wages,
as provided In the President's Re
employment Agreement, must be paid
to all employes until changes are an
nounced in a permanent code and
approved.
In the Interests of fair competi
tion, no shop owner or manager who
works at a barber or beauty chair,
either all or part time, shall be per
mute dto work more than 48 hours
per week, the code also states.
