Runs Over Dog Otto Nichols, stage
driver, filed a report with the city
police that he struck a dog,- killing
it, on the Pacific highway one mile
north of Phoenix Friday afternoon at
three o'clock. The, dog belonged to
Ruth Rattln of Marcetta, Ohio.

Meekers Return Mr. and Mrs. C.
A. Meeker returned to Medford Friday
evening from Portland, where they at
tended buyers' week. They made the
trip north through Central Oregon,
via, Bend, the Dalles and the Colum
bia river, and returning on the Pa
cific highway. They also visited the
old battleship "Constitution" while
in Portland.

A. A. Jones of the CCO headquartera
here, visited a number of camps In
the district last week and conducted
fire drills for the boys. Lake o' the
Woods camp was first, the boys hav
ing a crew of fifty men, fully equip
ped, with rations and fire fighting
equipment, and In their truck In sev
en minutes. Moon Prairie camp was
second, completing arrangements in
eight minute. The tests were also
held at Wineglaas camp, Government
camp, Upper Rogue and Elk creek.
