mittee consisting of Carl Stuart, U
E. Brophy and B. O. Harding, sua
pended operations on July 81st, hav
ing operated continuously sine No
vember 7th. 1033.
During Vie period mentioned
meals were supplied to 13,807 per
sons, the greater part of whom war
transients. Sleeping qusrtera ware
furnished during th same period to
8308 men, women and children.
While th meal were not elabor
ate, every caller waa supplied with
sn abundance of hot clean, nour
ishing food, and the report of va
rious inspection by local visitors
gave nothing but praise to the clean-
lines and comfort of th arrange
ments. Then was no "bread Una."
Every caller was seated and provided
with tab! war. Cot were furnish
ed In th teeplng quarter.
At trie beginning of this nterprla
It was hoped to finance it by the
aale of scrip book, and some such
book were sold. Th demand for
aid aoon grew so Urge that thla
method w found impractical, but
donation from merchants and va
rious other source of food, supplle
and money and finally th assistance
of th governor relief committee
mad It possible to close the season
without a deficit.
