apent yesterday on flahtng trips to
the various rl vera and atrea ma of
southern Oregon, some having ex
ceptional luck, and othera returning
with empty baskets. The entailer
etreama of high altitudes seem to
be the best place to catch trout

sion report. Several were successful
In landing steelheade.
Fred Scheffel and Clinton Spencer
went fishing In the Bog ye at the
Elks' picnic ground Sunday, and
after three houra of angling, were
unable to land a eteelhead. They
reported about 25 cars at the grounds,
with hardly any successful fishermen
In the lot.
A couple of eteelhead were brought
to Medford Sunday by Aubrey Norrls
and Keith Denman, who spent the
day fishing near By bee bridge. Their
catches weighed around four or five
pound each.
Ronald DeVore'a two steel he ad

pounds. He brought his In above

were brought from small streama in
the Diamond lake country yesterday,

district, according to reports.
John Taunza fished In the ocean
at Crescent City yesterday, and
caught two black snappers.
Eighteen trout was the catch Herb
Ouenther brought in from Sunday's
fishing on Car berry creek.
Moore Hamilton caught two trout
Sunday afternoon on Hardy's riffle,
near Oold Hill.
Among the limits of mountain
trout caught during the past few
days, was Ralph Co wg ill's, landed
on the south fork of Rogue river.
Mr. and Mrs. Oaston Porte of San
Francisco, who formerly resided in
Medford, are spending two weeks at
one of the C. T. Steward cabins on
the Rogue, having arrived in the
valley yesterday. They plan to do
a great deal of fishing while here.
A party of three Santa. Monica, men
E. J. Phillips, A. Reutgen and E.
J. Beck left Medford this morning
on a fishing trip to Diamond lake.

According to Vera VanDyke at
Lamport's, reports have been received
of some wonderful fishing now at
Diamond lake. Limits are being
caught there dally.
Mr. and Mrs. Jamea Murray and
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rostel went for a
boat ride on Diamond lake yester
day and caught six rainbow trout,
weighing from V to 34 pounds
They said many limit catches were
brought in during the daj.
Dr. Roscoe Watts of San Francisco
and three brokers from the San
Francisco Stock Exchange are vaca
tioning at one of the C. T. Steward
cabins in the Shady Cove district,
along the Rogue, and are putting in
their spare time fishing. Tarney
Steward said today that he couldn't
say how many fish the quartet had
landed, but that they had been tell
ing plenty of fish stories. Some of
the members of the party flew here
Saturday, and others made the trip
north via the Redwood highway.
