TEA FOB SUNDAY
Tuna Salad Salad Dressing
' Choese Biscuits Currant Jelly
Bnlca Sour cream Cake Coffee
Tuna Halur, Serving 8
9 tups tuna.
1 cup diced celery.
4 hard cooked eggs.
K cup oftoppsd plmlento.
s.uffed olives.
Vi cup chopped sweet pickles.
14 teaspoon salt.
Yt teaspoon paprika.
1 cud salad dressing.
Pour boiling water over tuna. Let
stand 5 minutes. Drain well, cool
nd chill tuna. Flake tuna apart
with fork. Add 'A the dressing and
rest of ingredients. Chill. Serve on
lettuce, top with remaining salad
dressing.
Salad Dressing
(Store In the Ice box)
4 egg yolks.
8 tablespoons flour.
4 tablespoons sugar.
teaspoon salt.
Vi teaspoon paprika.
14 teaspoon dry mustard.
Uj cup vinegar.
yp cup water.
1-3 cup sour cream.
Beat yolks and add dry Ingredi
ents. Mix well, add rest of ingre
dients. Cook in double boiler until
dressing thickens. Stir frequently.
.Cool and chill.
Cheese Biscuits
9 cups pastry flour. -
8 teaspoons baking powder.
teaspoon salt.
14 cup grated cheese.
1 1-3 cups milk.
Mix flour baking powder and salt.
Cut in fat. Add cheese, slowly add
milk. When sort dough forms, place
It on floured bosrd. pat out until
V, Inch thick. Cut out biscuits, bako
10 minutes in moderate oven.
Spice Sour Cream Cake
H cup fat. '
1 cup sugar.
2 teaspoons, cinnamon.
1 teaspoon cloves.
1 teaspoon nutmeg.
8 tablespoons fat.
1 teaspoon vanilla.
1 egg.
1 cup sour cream.
3 cups flour.
1 teaspoon soda.
Cream flit and sugar. Add rest
of Ingredients, beat 3 minutes. Pour
Into shallow pan lined wtth waxed
paper. Bake 30 minutes In moder
ate oven. Cool and frost with white
or caramel dressing.

consuls In Foochow and other parts
of China Informed the foreign office
today of various rumors that Ameri
cans ore seeking a foothold in Fu
klen. a maritime province In south
east China proper.
A foreign office spokesman said
the consuls are Investigating the re
ports especially because "Japan ts
very aennltlve" regarding the possi
bility of foreign Influence being es
tablished In Puklen, opposite Japan's
colony of Formosa, which might be
menaced thereby.
He added that his office placed
little credence In the rumors and
until they are confirmed no action
Is contemplated.
VETERAN'S SLAYER

permit him to die on the scaffold

Lee Stratton. 38-year-old convicted
slayer of William Frawley, was hanged
nt the state penitentiary shortly after
midnight.
The hanging was the first In the
new exeouttve chamber of the peni
tentiary, and the first In the past 1ft
months at the prison. The trap waa
sprung at 13:08 a. m and he was pro
nounced dead 15 minutes later.
Stratton was convicted of slaying
Frawley, middle-aged retired soldier
and resident of Port Townsend on
August 38, 1031. A Jury of 10 men
and two women found him guilty on
October 38, 1031.

Robert R. Elliott, 40, a taxi driver,
waa Killed early today and his body
thrown out on a curb In Elliott ave
nue West early today. He was shot
through the neck while sitting at
the wheel of his cab.
Tho vehicle, the motor- still run
ning, was found by Orvllle J. Htllls,
another cab driver, two miles from
where the body waa found. The mo
tive for the slaying was a mystery,
but It was apparently not robbery as
Elliott's watch and $1.70 In small
chancg was untouched.
