Where They Play Sunday
Coqulile at Med ford.
Ashland at Roseburg.
Facie Point at Klamath Palls.
Local baseball fans will have their
only opportunity of seeing Bill For
tier's league leading Coqulile Log
gers In action next Sunday when the
Logger Journey to Medford to en
gage Manager Halght'a Rogues In the
feature game of the Southern Ore
gon schedule. The game will be
played at the flax grounds and will
begin at 3:30.
Coquille Great Bush Team
. Under the managership of Bill For
tier, ex-Coast leaguer, the Loggers
have been .welded into one of the
most powerful bush league clubs In
the entire state. With the exception
of their weird 19-21 defeat at the
hands of Klamath Falls, they have
blasted through their schedule with
ridiculous ease. They defeated Med
ford 7-1 In the first meeting of the
tcama the Rogues getting but two
hits , off Gilbert Coqulile pitcher.
Medford Still In Race
With three games remaining on the
league schedule and the Rogues three
games behind Coqulile Medford can,
only mathematically, finish In a tie
for first place but, as the first and
second teams will play off for the
championship at the completion of
the schedule, Medford still has an
excellent chance to finish In second
position and a chance for the pen
nant. Manager Halght will start tlther
Bill Lake or Charles Prltchett on the
mound against Coqulile, while For
tter will entrust his mound duties
undoubtedly to Carl Gilbert,
Other Games
Other clashes will see the Klamath
Pelicans trying to stay In the race
against Eagle Pont at Klamath Falls
and Ashland attempting to knock
over the Roseburg Vets on their home
field. Conltn will probably work In
the box for the Cheesemakers while
Molatoie or Scrogglna will heave for
the Pelicans. All are left handers.
McLean, for Ashland, will oppose
Beckley, for Roseburg. Ashland will
have a new player in the person of
Elmer ("The Great") Brown, on third
base or the outfield. Brown Is the
well known footbah player from the
University of Oregon, where he star
red last year on Prink Calllson's var
sity squad.

Bob Kruse and Pete Bellcaatro came
out victors In their bouts with Geo.
Nelson and Swede Anderson respect
ively last night at the armory when
Kruse took his third and deciding
fall with a leg strangle and Bellcostro
won when Anderson dived through
the ropes and couldn't get back Into
the ilng In time.
Some choir is missing a good bet
up in Oswego In dot having Kruse
slngir.g tenor. Judging from the
plaintive walls that arise from Kruse
when things don't Just suit him.
His squawks were terrific last night
on several occasions, chief among
them w,hen Nelson stomped on his
bare toes, and when Nelson turned
on the heat In a toe hold to throw
Kruse in the second fall.
Kruce won the first fall with some
sort of surprise body press, Kruse re
bounding from the' ropes to catch
the Utah professor unawares and pin
his shoulders. The wrlstlocks so fa
vored by Kruse weren't so successful
last l'ight, due to . Nelson's great
strength In .his arms and shoulders.
Kruse got the first fall with a leg
strangle on Nelson's bad leg, Just a
few minutes before their .hour was up.
Bellcaatro threw Anderson the first
fall in their match with a hammer
lock that nearly put the Swede's arm
out of commission. Anderson came
back, however, to butt Bellcaatro
through the ropes for the second fall,
but ijst the third when he missed
Bellcsitio with another Sonnenberg
and dived out of the ring. Anderson
showed marked improvement In lsst
night's match, being able to adminis
ter holds he hadn't tried before. An
derson did. however, leave himself
wide open to Bellcastro on many oc
casions, the Italian having ample
time to decide which hold would be
most effective before putting It on.
According to Promoter Mack Llllard
last night's "gate" was the largest
seen at the armory this season.
