For Organization Here
At the meeting last night at the
Holland hotel of the branch of nat
ional league of western writers, the
name of the "Southern Oregon
Branch of the League of western
Writers" was adopted for the local
organization. It was announced that
the next meeting wlU be on August
T. at 3:30 o'clock In the hotel.
All persons Interested In the league
have been Invited to attend, and the
charter Is being held open until the
next meeting In order that those who
wish to be charter members, will have
an opportunity to become such.

Mrs. Horatio Gates left last week
by train for Canada and the middle
western United States, where she
plans to spend-about a month visit
ing relatives and friends. She will
return to her home here about the
first of August,
Ottawa and Toronto will be In
cluded among points to be visited by
Mrs, Gates, . and she will stop over
for some time In Minnesota.

Albert John Tlngleaf,- restdent of
Eagle Point for the past three years,
Tho passed at a local hospital Sun
day, as the result of severe blows to
the head, was born In Sweden, May
30, 1884, and came to the United
States In 1892.
He was united In marriage to Mil
lie Tucker at Wllllamafleld. 111., July
38, 1907. rour children were born
to the union; Clarence Dalbert,
Beulah and June, all at home. He
also leaves two brothers, Richard and
Fred of Riverside,' California. His
many friends of the Eagle Point and
Medford districts mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be conducted
from the Perl Funeral Home. Thurs
day at a :00 o. m., Rev. . J. S. Smith
of Butte Falls officiating. Interment
In Siskiyou Memorial Park. : Eagle
Point Orange will have charge of the
. services at the grave.
