Fisherman Drowns

Alberdlng, 25, bay city fireman,
drowned in Tillamook bay when he
apparently fell from his boat. The
craft was found with theengtne run
ning. Alberdlng's body was recovered.

Two weeks ago a crew of workers
from the O. O. C. under Jim Terrell
started repairing the forest Service
telephone line from the Star ranger
atatlon to Dutchman Peaw and on
to Wagner Butte. They are now
camped at Jacks Flat and were vis
ited laat week end by Captain Mc
Mahan. O, I. Jonea, first aid man,
and F. D. Meeker, camp clerk. The
boys are compelled to take hypoder
mics and for typhoid snd, as the
time had oome for the third Inocu
lation, the officers hiked to their
camps to administer them.
Bob Fletcher spent last week end
at his home on Big Applegate. Bob
has employment at the C. O. C. on
Elk creek driving a tractor.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anders, son and
daughter of Central Point were
among those enjoying laat Sunday
picnicking and fishing on Williams
crenk.
Mrs. L. C. Port entertained laat
Sunday for the following gueata: Mr.
and Mra. A. H. Peacher, their son-in-law

Camp Applegate has had several
men In the Isolation ward from up
per Rogue and other C. C. C. camps
from hlg.her altitude for the paat two
weeks. Their troubles were due to
whooping Cong,., influenza and ap
pendicitis. They wert recently re
leased. Eleven men from Camp ApplegaU
under the supervision of Rosa Dickey
are back at the Star ranger atatlon
