PLANT COLLECTION
FEATURE OF SHOW
Prom the Windy Peak rang In the
Blue- Ledge-Slsktyou Summit dUtrlct,
came one of the most Interesting dis
plays at the Medford Garden club
flower show, which closed lut night
at the completion of two successful
days. The rare Alpine rock garden
plant collection, which made up the
display, was brought to Medford by
MIm Venlta Daley, who walked many
miles to gather the plants, whose
location she has known for a num
ber of years.
In the mlnature rock garden were
growing Lewlsa cotyledon, sedum ra
dlatum (stone crop) and cotyledon
pyramdalls (saxafraga).
The garden waa entered In the wild
flower exhibit, which included more
than 160 specimens of southern Ore
gon wild flowers.
Others, collecting flowers for the
exhibit, were Miss Helen Bullls and
Mrs. Ethel Wlllits. Regions repre
sented were Mt. Wagner, Elk Creek at
Persist, Blue Ledge, Butte Falls and
the Jacksonville and Griffin Creek
hills. Classification of specimens was
made by Mr. Wlllits.
Another Interesting feature of the
wild flower division was the pressed
wild flower booklet, entered by Kate
Janney.
Members of the club were busy this
morning at the high school gymna
sium, moving the flowers from their
temporary garden and attending to
final arrangements, marking the close
of the show.
