Mrs. Snider to Attend
Mother's Day Festivities.
Mrs. Maude Snider is among Med
ford mothers who will spend thts
week-end on the University of Ore
gon campus, where all mothers will
be feted at numerous eventa. She
will be guest of her daughter. Miss
Mary Snider, a member of Kappa
Delta sorority.
Radio Programs of
Music Week Enjoyed.
Many people in the valley enjoyed
programs presented under auspices of
the Jackson County Music Teachers'
association from station KMED this
week. Featured were programs by
Mrs. Rawles Moore, Mrs. George An
drews and Miss Imogene Wallace,
local musicians.
Levy Students in
Radio Recital.
Victor Levy, violin instructor of the
Institute of Musical Education In this
city, will present his pupils In a half
hour recital over KMED this evening
from 7 to 7:30 o'clock In orchestral
numbers. Mr. Levy will also play
several violin &olos. A very Interest
ing program will be presented.
Altar Guild Food
Sale Is Tomorrow
The nut bread is baking today and
brownies will be skipping tomorrow
at the food sale to be sponsored by
Altar Guild of St. Mark's church,
Episcopal, members of the commit
tee announce. All sorts of tasty pas
tries, salads and meat dishes will go
on sale. Plans were completed for
tne event at a committee meeting
at the home of Mrs. Jack Porter.
Mrs. Johnson Home
From Visit In South
Mrs. Frederick Johnson has re
turned from an extended visit with
her daughter, Mrs. Leonard Brown,
of Pasadena, Cal. Dr. George John
son, who accompanied his mother
south, will remain In Los Angeles
for several months, taking charge of
the dental practice of Dr. Franklin
Greer, who has gone east for his
health.
Pocahontas Lodge to
Sponsor Dance
Tho Pocahontas lodge will outer
tain at dancing this evening In the
lodge hall for the pleasure of Poca
hontas, Redmen and Redmen's wives
and invited friends.
The affair has been arranged In
celebration of St. Tammany's day.
Dickey's orchestra will play music for
dancing, and guests who do not en
Joy dancing will play cards.
Dancing and cards will be followed
by refreshments .
Normal School League
Plans Saturday Tea
The Women's League of the South
ern Oregon Normal school Is sponsor
ing a tea Saturday afternoon from
3 to 5 in the auditorium for the
benefit of the mothers of all stu
dents and alumni of S. O. N. S. A
program has been arranged and a
large crowd Is anticipated.
The committees for the affair ln
elude Elsie Esbech. general chair
man; Jean Baylls, decorations; Doris
Porter, reception; Virginia Fick, pro
gram.
Concert to Observe Music
Week and Mother's Day.
National Music week and Mother's
day will be observed at. the First
Presbyterian church Sunday. Special
music has been arranged for tn
morning service and In the evening
a sacred concert will be presenteq
under direction of Mrs. Elsie Can
ton Strang.
The concert Is planned for 8:0u
o'clock and an Invitation Is extended
the public. The program will be an
nounced 8unday morning.
Presbyterian Choir
Entertained Thursday.
Following choir practice last even
ing. Miss Dorothy Reynolds, pianist,
and Mrs. Elsie Carlton Strang, di
rector of the Presbyterian musical
organization, entertained the mem
bers at the Holland Hotel. An In
formal hour of visiting was enjoyed
and followed by refreshments.
Mrs. Montgomery Here
For Lodge Session.
Mrs. Naomi Montgomery of Port
land arrived last evening from the
north to visit friends and attend the
session here tomorrow of Zuleima
Temple, Daughters of the Nile. She
will be welcomed by many friends in
the Rogue River valley.
Fine Beef to Be Shown Here

Hanley's ranch on the north Pacific
highway. This steer was sold for
more than 1100, according to Herb
Meusel, showing that ther Is profit
in the raising of high quality beef
cattle.
This animal was given special feed
and prepared for exhibition at the
Pacific Livestock exposition. How
ever, It was secured by the Rogue
River Meat company and will be sold
to Rogue River valley heat users the
latter part of next week.
