The Women's Oreater Oregon as
sociation is conducting an educa
tlonal campaign for a more equal
distribution In buying, requesting
that quality and price being equal
women give preference to Oregon
products. The state of California
has carried on such a campaign for
many years and the state of Wash
ington now has an organization sim
ilar to our own.
The organization hopes to have
ready for distribution, within the
near future, small booklets, of
size to be conveniently carried in
women's handbags, listing different
brands of Oregon products, as they
believe greater demand for home
products can be created through
knowledge of brands ' rather than
names of manufacturing firms.
The Women's Greater Oregon as
sociation originally charged dues of
one dollar per year, but found that
although women were perfectly will
Ing to work for the promotion of
sales of Oregon products they were
unwilling or unable to pay dues,
therefore dues were discontinued
after five months trial. The organi
zation la now supported through
pledges given by Oregon manufact
urers and Interested individuals.
The association has been repre
sented ninety times by tta state board
members at luncheons, dinners and
organizing meetings; twenty-seven
radio talks have been given adver
tising Oregon products and booths
have been presided over at six fairs.
