During the World war, P. O. Den
aon waa a captain in the Englneera,
having gained considerable experi
ence while connected with the Ford,
Bacun & Davis firm before that time.
In 1608 he waa engaged with Colonel
Frank N. Black in engineering and
rebuilding the Unl-d Railroads or
San Francisco.
Improvements, including redecorat
ing and remodeling which were start
ad by Emll Mohr, have been com
pleted under the direction of Mr.
Denton. Work on reflnishtng the ex
terior of the building will be under
war within a few daya, according to

make the Hotel Medford a cheerful,
modern home for tourist and local
guests.

Ashlsnd will be headquarters for
school children of southern Oregon
and northern California tomorrow
and Friday, when the fifth annual
spring musical festival opens In the
Normal school city.
Hundreds of participants are ex-
peoted. The grade achool program
group; girls chorua -from Rogue
River, Mrs. Minnie Ouy, director: a
chorua from Talent directed by Floy
Young; aolo dance by pupils from
the Howard achool; Klamath Palls
glee club directed by LUlle Darby.
At 3:00 o'clock cornea the folk
dancing, the Highland Schottlach
will open at 1:80 o clock Thursday
afternoon and the high achool pro
gram will be featured Friday. Ad
dresses of welcome will be made
each day by Mayor Thorton S. Wiley
and President Walter Eccllord of the
Southern Oregon normal school be
fore opening of the musical programs.
In schools throughout the county
studonts are going through last min
ute rehearsala in preparation for the
festival.
The grade school program Includes
a dance by the Griffin creek school
Irish Lilt, the Hatter, The BlacR
Nag, Come let Us Be Joyful, Little
Man In a Fix, and the Whole Fam
ily, being Included on this num
ber. The Junior high mixed ensemble
chorus directed by Miss Darby,
Klamath Falls, will sing four num
bers, "Afterwsrds." "Pirates," "To
Thee. O Country" and "Juanlta."
A special number will be presented
by the Weed band directed by Don
Colvlg.
The Junior high achool massed
bands, ri'.:-5ted by Don Colvlg. Weed
public schools wilt play three num
bers, "Exuberance." and overture,
"B of A" March and "Our Junlora
and Seniors."
This will complete the tint day's
program In which at least 600 chil
dren are expected to participate.
