The disorderly conduct charge grew

of Leounrd Hall, editor of the
Jacksonville Miner.

ef "slandering a bank." as the re
sult of a signed artlrls appearing In

Brown, for week a daily visitor at
the court house, haa not been seen
for ft week or more. He is at liberty
on bonds. Authorities "wondered"
today where be was. He la not sought,
but failure to be seen In accustomed
haunt, has mildly aroused the of
ficial curiosity.

report, that "three or more guilty
pleas are scheduled."
The authorities continue secretive
relative to the evidence collected in
the ballot-stealing and burning. They
reaffirm their previous claims "the
state has an alr-tlght case.'1

Many Early Visitors.
While park approach roads have
been open only a short time, late fig
ures show the arrival of 3217 visitors
In 672 cars, representative of numer
ous out of state points. Motorists
arriving at this time of the year will
find the snow depth in the rim area
16 feet and at Government Camp, 11
feet.. The depth decreases to 0 feet
and 8 Inches at the Annie Springs
checking station, the Junction of the
west and south entrances.
Upon driving between banks reach
ing a height of 30 feet, visitors gain
ready realisation on snow removal
problems confronting park officials
to effect an early opening. Before
the use of modern equipment, travel
often was not possible until the early
part of Juljfc and one year travel did
not begin until August 8. Snowplow
are placed In action with the first
heavy storm and throughout the win
ter maintain approximately 25 miles
of oped road, leaving barriers at both
entrances to prevent the arrival of
ambitious motorists who would dare
the elements In their avid desire to
view the lake of sapphire In Its win
ter realm.
